Fun creative activiti Welcome to my page.

My name is Sally Wood, and in 2015 I set up 'One of a Kind - Autism Support Services', which provides mentoring support to children and adolescents with Autism. My passion for supporting children with Autism began when I was working within the children's psychiatric health sector as an Occupational Therapy Assistant. In this role, I worked closely with children on the spectrum with associated diff

iculties, and received extensive training on Autism spectrum disorder and behavioural management, but also on a huge range of mental health conditions. I learnt so much working with such a wide range of wonderful children and loved the challenge of exploring new ways to teach and support children with Autism, and wanted to offer a similar service to the wider community. 'One of a Kind - Autism Support Services' was born! I provide individually designed and highly personalised mentoring sessions to children and adolescents in East Sussex. I travel to your home, to ensure your child is in a comfortable environment on a regular day and time providing my own equipment and tools. The sessions are individually focused according to the expressed needs of the family, carers and professionals as well the individual themselves. The aim is to reduce difficulties, develop understanding/awareness and encourage self-regulation - resulting in a calmer, more relaxed and confident child who can more readily cope with difficult situations life brings. I understand it is also hugely important to support parents and siblings of a child with Autism - and can provide one-to-one or group sessions offering support, advice and awareness. Each 'One of a Kind' session is formally recorded, with suggested strategies to be utilised by the child's support network. These reports can also be shared with education or any other appropriate professional if required. As a mum myself, I understand the enormity of allowing others to work with your children. That is why I offer a free consultation and many forms of contact to ensure any questions can be answered whenever needed. I am fully DBS checked and insured, and can provide numerous references. I am hugely passionate about supporting children with Autism, and now have the capacity to take on a number of additional clients. If you feel your child and family could benefit from my support, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me on 07762027777 or oneofakind.autismservices@gmail.com.

UPDATE: Due to the overwhelming response we have reached the limit on ticket requests and will be contacting those who have been allocated tickets in the next couple of days.

Free Drusillas Tickets for Autism Acceptance Week!

Our friends at Drusillas Park are taking part in the World Autism Acceptance campaign, led by BIAZA (the British & Irish Association of Zoos and Aquaria) of which they are proud members. To support the campaign this year, they are offering families of children with autism free tickets to visit Drusillas during the campaign week and have allocated 40 tickets to Amaze families.

We'll offer these on a first come, first served basis. Please email marie@amazesussex.org.uk, using the subject 'Drusillas' and provide:

One full name per group
Email address
No. of adults/children attending
Date of visit (choose between Monday 31st March, Tuesday 1st, Wednesday 2nd or
Friday 4th April).

Thing to note:
The campaign falls during term-time weekdays when the park is typically quieter, so a great time to avoid queues, crowds, and too much noise. In addition to free tickets, families will also be welcome to free ride Access Passes for the day (to avoid any ride queues) and free sunflower lanyards. They are also in the process of creating some walk-through videos, so visitors can familiarise themselves with our site before visiting. Full details of their commitment to accessibility can be found here: https://www.drusillas.co.uk/access-statement

The complimentary tickets will provide unlimited access to the zoo, animal walkthroughs, 7 family-friendly rides, 2 adventure play areas, indoor soft play, toddler rides, and much more...

The tickets offered are per-person, not per family, so please allow for this when allocating. Accompanying carers are always welcome free of charge (on presentation of eligible documentation) and so won’t require one of the allocated tickets.
