Sun damage is caused by exposing unprotected skin to the sun for too long even in cloudy weather. We need some exposure to sunlight as it is an important source of vitamin D, but overexposure to UV rays (ultraviolet radiation) damages the skin’s cellular DNA and can cause pigmentation, wrinkles, dryness, sunburn, leathery texture and even cancer.
Dr T&M well-being clinic advice to
spend time in the shade between 11am and 3pm
cover up with suitable clothing and sunglasses.
Use at least factor 30 sunscreen and apply as frequently as possible
