Corporate massage day recently at BCLP (Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner) on King Street in Manchester.

The day of chair massage coincided with BCLP's well-being week and overall well-being programme for employees.

Some great feedback from the employees, and even one or two that fell asleep in the chair, during their treatments 😂😴

To enquire or book any treatments for your employees, just get in touch with myself 07944 628 887.
Whether a minimum 3-hour slot or longer, I can tailor a well-being session or day to your employees' needs and offer most of the treatments I have available.

I now offer acupuncture, dry needling, as a treatment!

Acupuncture, or Dry Needling, is a technique used to treat musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. It involves inserting thin, sterile needles into specific areas of the body, particularly into trigger points, muscles, or connective tissues, to relieve pain and improve mobility.

It is a valuable treatment in the management of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction, offering targeted relief for muscle-related conditions and enhancing the overall effectiveness of rehabilitation programs.

If massage or trigger point therapy is too uncomfortable for you and acupuncture is a treatment you are open to trying, it can potentially help to alleviate muscular dysfunction.

The short clip shows the common areas Debbie Smith aka Butterfly Reflexology regularly holds tension, in her upper back and shoulder blade areas.

Debbie usually has trigger point therapy to relieve the tension but was in some discomfort and opted to try dry needling instead.

The tension has relieved and the treatment itself was more manageable due to the initial muscular pain.

You can book in at The Hub New Mills via their fresha page or directly with myself, or at my Hale Premises directly through myself, also.

Wow, this is from 8 years ago!

8 years ago, I started out full-time self-employment as a Level 3 sports massage therapist.

Zero clientele, no premises, just my mobile table, travelling to clients' houses.

I spent 3 hours one day leafletting a major road where I lived, and that resulted in one reply.

That reply led to my first premises in Altrincham, based next to Total Fitness.

2 years later, in 2018, I moved to Hale Village, which was a great location to be based for the next 5 years.

Then to Hale Barns in 2023, at The Hale Barns Therapy Centre and additionally the same year, a second premises in New Mills at The Hub New Mills.

Exciting news to come later this month, with new premises, moving from my Hale Barns location, sadly The Hale Barns Therapy Centre is closing on 22nd October.

You can still book in both there and at my New Mills premises, also.

The one thing I have remained throughout from 2016 was to be positive, even when starting with zero clientele, quiet periods, and everything that comes with starting a new business.

8 years on and having added so many more treatments and my Level 5 Sports Therapy qualification and acupuncture, it's exciting times ahead!

New treatments are coming soon, and a new dynamic next year to what I can offer, along with all my treatments!

Lower back! (Part 2 of 2 clips)

The most common issues I see are lower and upper back problems.
Whether through poor posture, prolonged sitting, or day to day stress and tension.

In most cases, the best remedy is to strengthen!

Here are two of the most basic exercises I demonstrate and give to clients to help strengthen their lower back and core.

Seated good mornings

Great for lower back strengthening.
Bodyweight and regressed to the most basic level to strengthen.

This can, of course, be progressed to adding a weight either held in front of you or a barbell on your shoulders and also into a standing position.

2-3 sets of 6-10 reps, very slow and controlled throughout the whole exercise. Lower to an angle that is comfortable and pain-free for you.

Bird/dog exercise

Great for core strengthening.
Regressed to just the leg aspect of the exercise, it can be built up to adding the arm aspect and further raising the arm and leg higher.

Alternating or just continuous reps of the same side.
Again, 2-3 sets of 5 reps per side. Starting with just the leg aspect and progressively adding the opposite arm and increasing the height in which you raise them.

Both exercises are great, but if you can only manage the seated good morning, it will help to start to strengthen your lower back.

I have given this exercise to a lady client in her 70s, and a week later, her back pain had not only gone, but she could feel the difference in strength.

Make the change and strengthen now and be proactive in looking after your body to prevent injury or pain.

Level 5 Sports Therapy & Rehabilitation.

I've been a little quiet in recent months as I've been on an intense 6-month course, Level 5 Sports therapy & rehabilitation.

This has brought new techniques to helping my clients with pain, tension, loss of functionality, and loss of range of movement.

In the coming weeks, I'll be posting videos of all the new and exsisting techniques I use and actually demonstrating on someone, using examples of the most common ailments I see, such as upper back and neck tension.......not just videos of me bobbing up and down in a lake 😂

Also, coming soon, I will have a new treatment available, so watch this space!

So if you have any pain, tension, reduction in functionality, or range of movement, then get in touch.
