Whilst we don't recommend leaving it late, and we still suggest booking in around 28 weeks for your 5D Bonding Scan, today we welcomed a lady at 37+6 weeks who was treated to over 100 fantastic images and video reels proving it is still possible, even at later gestations.

We don't have a cut-off date and wouldn't refuse a 5D scan booking based on gestation but not everyone will be as fortunate to get such great views of baby so best advice is to book in ahead, but if the soonest availability is later than 28-30 weeks, it is still fine!

All 5D Bonding Scans include unlimited digital images with a choice of packages which include colour prints, key-rings and heartbeat bears. You can check availability and book your appointment at either clinic location online 24/7.

Starlight offers a full and comprehensive range of fertility- and pregnancy-related blood tests with same-day results.

Booking for blood tests, whether with an ultrasound scan or on their own, is available online 24/7 with urgent and short-notice tests also available by arrangement over the phone or via our LiveChat facility.

Blood tests include Beta HcG, female hormones such as Oestrogen & Progesterone as well as any other tests requested by your fertility clinic or specialist.

These blood tests are in addition to Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (which includes an ultrasound scan as standard and is available from 10 weeks into pregnancy) and the Starlight Express Early Gender Blood Test which is available from just 6 weeks into pregnancy.

All tests are clinical, venous blood tests which require attendance at either of our clinic locations, as opposed to at-home, finger prick tests which we do not offer.

A women’s health pelvis scan at Starlight Ultrasound costs £100 at either clinic location.

It doesn’t matter whether it is for pre-conception, for fertility or follicle tracking purposes, prior to or during IVF treatment, post-miscarriage, post partum, for gynaecology reasons to check for fibroids, cysts or masses, assessing the ovaries or endometrial lining, these are all covered by a pelvic ultrasound scan.

We've not got quite this many team members, but for the next few weeks we've got Laura, Jade & Claire all available across our clinics in Bury and Hale.

Claire is returning to work after maternity leave having welcomed Rosie into the world last year. Claire is able to perform every type of pregnancy scan that Starlight offers as well as fertility and gynaecology scans in addition to general medical abdominal scans for men and women. She already has bookings for her clinics in June.

Jade is due to start her maternity leave shortly as she looks forward to welcoming a little girl to her family, joining her sons Arthur and Edward.

And despite annual leave later this month Laura is available for all scans and midwifery services at both clinic locations.

Real-time availability for all three sonographers is shown online via our booking system which can be access from our website 24 / 7.

Our booking system allows you to specificy which sonographer you want to book with but you can also select "no preference" to see all availability based on a certain date or location.

Starlight Ultrasound offers diagnostic pregnancy scans including the anatomy scan, also known as the anomaly scan, which is the equivalent of the NHS 20-week scan.

The recommended gestation for this scan to be performed is between 18 weeks and 20+6 weeks but for various reasons it can be 20-22 weeks for most people to have their NHS appointment so we can offer the anatomy scan from 18 weeks.

Very often people choose to book an anatomy scan at Starlight prior to their NHS scan because they can attend with friends and/or family and have the scan in a comfortable and reassuring environment.

The NHS 20-week scan is offered to all pregnant women but it is optional.

It is an important and detailed scan assessing baby for certain conditions as well as elements of their anatomy including their heart, brain, spinal cord and kidneys.

Starlight Ultrasound offers Non-Invasive Prenatal Testing (NIPT) which is available from 10 weeks into pregnancy.

It can be performed at any gestation from 10 weeks with no cut-off point and is suitable for singleton and twin pregnancies, and those conceived naturally as well as IVF pregnancies.

The service includes an ultrasound scan, as well as a blood test, ensuring the pregnancy is dated correctly because there won't be sufficient fetal DNA to obtain a result prior to 10 weeks.

There is a choice of two NIPT brands, details of which are shown on our website and for which leaflets can be sent by email.

Turnaround times for both are 2-4 working days and both tests can include confirmation of gender at no extra cost.

Booking is available online 24/7 and the NIPT is available at both clinic locations.

Did you know Starlight offers a couple of special deals for 5D scans on a Tuesday at our clinic in Bury?

Our Bronze 5D Scan which is a digital only scan is available every Tuesday in Bury with our Queen of the 5D, Jade!

You can still purchase colour 5D pictures on the day but it is only digital images and video reels that are included as standard.

But the digital pack has no limit on the number of images captured.

We also offer our Silver 5D Scan at a reduced price on Tuesdays in Bury. The Silver 5D Scan includes the digital pack as standard along with 6 colour pictures and/or keyrings.

The fastest and easiest way to book a special offer 5D Scan is via our website but bookings can also be made over the phone, in clinic or via social media. In all cases a £25 non-refundable deposit is payable on booking with the balance payable in clinic on the day of your appointment.
