CBT SFBT The prime objective of Hypnotherapy is to rid the mind of negative thought. There is no "one size fits all".

Pent up emotions, feelings of negativity and fear have a detrimental effect on our psyche. We act irrationally and our focus is disrupted. Therapeutic healing is obtained in a gentle and relaxing way. During the Hypnotherapy process you are guided by Kathryn to make positive changes to the thoughts and behaviours which you feel you want to change. We all have the ability within ourselves to improve our situations and bring about change. You are not asleep during Hypnosis, simply very relaxed. You can at all times move freely and you will not do anything that you do not wish to do. (This is not the same as stage hypnosis). The mind responds to positive changes when we are in a relaxed state. Prior to treatment it is necessary to discuss the nature of the problem in order to determine the right course of action. I work gently with clients and my aim is to support and oversee you on your journey. Every client is an individual which is why sessions are tailor made. I aim to get you through therapy as quickly as possible, however, it is necessary to make the changes you require manageable, therefore two or more sessions may be required. Support is crucial as you make your way to a more relaxed and fulfilled lifestyle. Clients can return at any time for additional help should they feel the need.

Think of January as a gentle, comforting arrival, because January does bring such quiet. I invite you to reflect and begin anew, without pressure.

Think warmth, patience and self-acceptance. Allow for gradual growth and change. Go easy on yourself this month, is all I ask.

We’re all busy and “Wintering” may feel an unfamiliar act. It Encourages us to slow down and just allow the quiet, inviting moments of rest and reflection in order to gather our energy. This restoration, a deliberate pause allows the nervous system to lighten-up and our inner world to follow a calmer pace.

Wintering asks us to be more conscious of where our energy goes. To recognise that conserving energy in winter is not a lack of motivation, but a type of wisdom. We know that nature doesn’t expend without purpose, nor should we, and choosing support during quieter months isn’t a sign of weakness, it’s an act of care. Choosing where your energy goes matters more now than how much you produce, and restoring rather than overextending allows your system the opportunity to renew.

Hypnotherapy can be especially supportive at this time. When the mind is tired, hypnotherapy offers a way to access deeper rest, the sort that doesn’t come from a night’s sleep.

You don’t owe your energy to everything that asks for it. Some boundaries are seasonal, and with that in mind my message is prioritise your well-being in Winter, conserve your energy and rest.

Where could you gently pull your energy back? I’d love to know 🤍

Habit building is often sold as a willpower problem. The things we say to ourselves, “must try harder”, “must be more strict with myself”, “I must stay consistent”. But here’s the uncomfortable message everyone who says those things completely misses.
If you don’t understand why you live the way you do, you’ll keep rebuilding the same habits in different packaging.

To me, Boxing Day is a powerful day because it interrupts autopilot.
The noise lowers, the performance ends, and for a brief moment, you can see your patterns clearly.

This is where a vision board becomes a coaching tool, no not a Pinterest project (although it can be because we love nice pictures). It’s not about what you want to achieve, but about what you’re no longer willing to tolerate. I know, I’ve got my Coaching head on today.

Sustainable habit building asks great questions:
• What does my current routine protect me from feeling?
• Which habits are coping strategies, not conscious choices?
• What kind of day would actually support my nervous system?

When habits are built without reflection, they become another type of pressure, to add to all the other pressures we have. When they’re built with awareness, they become self-trust. There’s a difference.

A vision grounded in how you want to feel creates habits that last, habits more aligned with your nervous system, not just your calendar. So the real work on Boxing Day or any other day, isn’t planning more. It’s noticing more.

Because the habit you repeat most isn’t what you do, it’s how you respond to your own life.

Before you rush into changing anything, pause. I’d like you today to ask yourself:
• Which habit supports who I’m becoming?
• Which one belongs to an old version of me?

If you’re ready to build habits that feel aligned rather than forced, habits that work with your nervous system, not against it, this is the work I guide people through in coaching.

Start by creating a vision that feels safe, honest and sustainable.
And if you’d like support turning that vision into daily habits that actually last, you know where to find me. Happy Boxing Day 🎄

Sometimes it’s the smallest things that take up the most room in our hearts, and that’s the part we often rush past without noticing. We live in a world that teaches us to chase the big moments, the loud wins, the milestones. Yet it’s rarely those that stay with us when the excitement settles and everyone has gone home. It’s actually the quiet exchanges and subtle shifts or fleeting moments that stay with us for far longer than we expect. For me, those moments are the best moments.

My message here is about attention. What you give space to will shape you. A kind word spoken at the right moment, a pause before reacting, a familiar routine that reinstates your equilibrium. These things don’t look impressive at first glance, but internally, and this is the bit that makes all the difference, they build safety, meaning, and connection. They anchor you in ways that achievement alone never can.

Sometimes what takes up the most room isn’t dramatic or life altering, in the obvious sense, it’s what feels right, feels calm and what feels like home to your nervous system. When you start acknowledging and praising those small things, you will begin to realise they’re not small at all. They are your proof of what actually matters.

Take a moment before the year expires and look back. What small moments stayed with you? If one comes to mind, you’re welcome to share, or simply celebrate it. I feel certain you’ll find one. 🤍

Glimmers are those small, often overlooked moments that bring feelings of joy, contentment, and gratitude. They can be sparked by everyday experiences, like listening to the sound of rain tapping against your window, the early morning birdsong or watching a beautiful sunset.

If we take a moment to appreciate what is happening around us, we may notice glimmers everywhere. They are always happening but we take so many moments of joy for granted. But, there is so much value to be had in these moments of pure bliss.

Glimmers have the power to elevate your mood. Today, take a moment to observe the beauty of nature and the little glimmers happening around you. Engaging in this mindful practice will anchor you in the present, helping to keep your thoughts from drifting into the past or racing ahead to the future.

Happy Glimmer Searching. What have you noticed today? Tell me all about them. ✨✨

We were not all brought up in homes where expressing needs or establishing limits was welcomed with open arms.
When a parent or caregiver overlooks a child's emotional, psychological, or physical needs, the child may come to believe that their own needs are insignificant. Growing up in such an environment often leads individuals to suppress their discomfort, prioritising harmony or a sense of stability in a relationship, even if it is detrimental or unhealthy. It may seem simpler to maintain a relationship, than to express one’s needs and risk the chance of rejection or being isolated. When boundaries are established and relationships either deteriorate or change, it can further embed these negative beliefs, creating a cycle that feels challenging to escape.

Setting boundaries is an essential aspect of self-care, not an act of selfishness. Boundaries help to safeguard your energy and prevent you from feeling resentment toward others.

You are worthy of relationships that prioritise respect and mutual understanding and by starting small you can become more confident setting boundaries and feeling comfortable with your choices. Boundaries are not designed to segregate you from others, rather they provide the space you need to be yourself. Consider boundaries as a pathway to more respectful relationships. By establishing limits we create a clear guide for others to follow, leading to less stress and better communication.

If you are struggling to voice your opinions or make your boundaries clear to others, I can help you. You will receive guidance on how to set boundaries and therapy in relation to confidence and assertiveness. Engaging with others who completely understand your journey is vital for your success.

Developing patience is a tough skill to learn, and for many, the ability to endure the discomfort can be difficult. Patience demands that we confront and accept our feelings of unease while we wait for something we desire.

Winter, to me, seems to arrive in mid January. The increased daylight is slow but welcomed and days can be extremely cold. Most people feel the need to “hibernate” during this period, and we find ourselves waiting. Waiting for more sunlight, waiting for warmer weather, waiting for a general feeling of ease to emerge to lift the spirits. But, are we patient when we wait?

Practising mindfulness and learning to build your tolerance for discomfort will undoubtedly strengthen your patience.
The key is to get out of your head, use your senses, and think of the moment you’re in. The Now. One way I practice patience is by allowing cars to zoom in front of me. I “give way” waving to acknowledge my fellow drivers. I love doing this, it makes me feel so good. I’m a pretty patient person anyway but I can still have my off days!! Slowing down is all it takes.

Winter demands that nature slows down. During this time we may consider our own self-care. I enjoy the solitude, the contemplative mood that sweeps over me and the joy of not having to be somewhere. A peaceful amble, when suitably wrapped in warm clothes, can be so calming. A mindful pursuit that brings clarity, and patience. There is a time for everything and winter can teach us the importance of waiting for that time with patience. The way you respond during moments of waiting is the key.

Winter is not for everyone, nor is solitude, I do understand that, and during this period of waiting, if you feel anxious about things not moving as quickly as they should, try a deeply relaxing Hypnotherapy session. We weren’t all taught the value of patience as children, and it seems a lot of us have been lured by the delights of instant gratification, only to find impatience or fear.

When we take harmony into consideration it will most certainly yield positive results, creating a sense of compassion towards not only ourselves and our surroundings but also the world.

We live in a busy, noisy society and that noise continues within. Our minds are overloaded with doubts and fears, leading to stress and anxiety. Tension arises when we become fearful snd anxious and this in turn leads us to lack confidence in our abilities and actions.

Harmony, a word often used by musicians when they are creating a beautiful order of instruments. Everything is in sync. The word harmony comes from the Greek word “harmonia” which means “to fit together”, and we can learn a lot from this. When someone sings off key or plays a wrong note we immediately can hear the disharmony.
Yet, when a choir sings in unison we hear the pleasing effects of those in balance.
When working to produce equilibrium within our own mind, we are choosing to embrace all our characteristics, in order to create a beautiful individual. It’s not easy, I know that. However, most of us are aware of our shortcomings. Personal development helps to address our weaknesses and seek out the positive aspects.

Living more harmoniously with our neighbours or people within our vicinity is a great way to build relationships and create peaceful environments that have a lasting effects. A peaceful mind is a quiet mind, a harmonious mind, and when we generate peace for ourselves, it leads to increased productivity, better decision making and a better quality of living. May peace be with you all today

Solvitur Ambulando (Latin), “it is solved by walking”

I came across this beautiful phrase and it stayed with me for some time. I was thinking about how we let go of things when we walk. We walk to solve problems, we walk when we need to find creative solutions, we walk off our emotions. Problems, it seems, are best encountered when we walk.

We walk away from difficulties, problem people, situations, and many more issues because we don’t want to face them. But, we can walk toward. When we deliberately walk toward something or someone, we are making the choice to accept what is. We are not avoiding unpleasantness, opening bills, reading emails, sidestepping awkward conversations and so forth.

It is difficult to walk toward things, I get that. We are all facing many challenges and different situations. It’s not easy to walk towards something that fills you with dread or fear. We run away from those things, as the adrenaline kicks in. But, in time, many of us have to face things. So, maybe walking is the solution. You choose in which direction you want to walk.

Take it slow, free your mind and allow those insights to come to you with solutions that may help you through.

I caught a snippet of “Miranda” last night. For those of you who don’t know, it’s a comical sitcom. She was visiting a school and she said “why are we told to walk not run”, she ran and promptly fell over 😉 (silly I know)!! It leads me to say, don’t run, walk.

May you walk your way through things, and come out the other side with knowledge and experience. May walking prove to be a useful resource when it comes to problem solving and coming up with creative ideas and strategies. But, more than anything may your walk be enlightening, enjoyable and bring you closer to your dreams.

Every time you walk, think of this “Solvitur Ambulando”

Winter appears to be upon us in the UK with the gentle arrival of snow, although the rain still prevails and mushed up together it can get slushy 😏

December saw a frenzy of activity, one way or another, and most of us are frazzled. Whilst January brings a newness, renewed vision and hopes and dreams that set the pace for the year ahead, we may not be feeling up to par.
With that in mind we may need to tweak our plans to reflect available energies.

It’s ok to say “no”to more socialising. It’s ok to find yourself a pocket of peace and enjoy time with yourself. You don’t necessarily have to curl up like a door mouse, keeping active for your health is a must. But by saying no to demands on your time and energy could replenish your resources, so that you can follow through with the hopes and dreams you have mapped out in line with your goals for the remainder of the year.

Choose JOMO over FOMO by

1. Turning off notifications for 20 mins each day.
2. Consider setting boundaries in relation to out of hours work emails.
3. Enjoy social-media free time
4. Take time to enjoy some creative or interesting hobbies.
5. Consider becoming less concerned with what is happening elsewhere, concentrate on your joy.
6. Get lost in a good book for an hour.

There are so many ways you can use your time to recharge your batteries and fill your cup. JOMO is not about completely losing touch with everyone. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, some people are energised by connection. It’s about finding contentment in choosing to opt-out. You do not have to attend every invitation thrust upon you. It’s your choice. That in my book is self-care. Enjoy your JOMO.

Leave a❤️if you agree

If you would like to enjoy the therapeutic effects of hypnotherapy as part of your self-care journey, I offer wonderful relaxing sessions. Throughout January 2025 JOMO sessions are available. Quote JOMO25 for your 10% discount.

Many of us find ourselves entangled in situations that bring us discomfort, all while we chase after a future that we believe will bring us happiness. But what happens when we finally reach that future? Almost immediately, we become preoccupied with the next desire that we think will enhance our lives.

When we decide to allow things to unfold naturally, this is often the moment we become acutely aware of what we lack. The trick is to not linger in that space of want. Instead, you should release those feelings and send them out into the universe. By redirecting your focus to self-love and self-care you know you will be best placed to handle any outcome.

The essence of allowing is rooted in feeling good about the present moment. This creates a paradox. You might believe that only by acquiring what you desire will you feel satisfaction. However, the quickest path to any desired change is to cultivate a sense of appreciation or gratitude for who you are and what you currently possess. Write about all the good things you possess or feel within and your thoughts in the moment will change.

Life will always bring challenges. Without contrasting experiences, how would we appreciate the joy of feeling good? Yet, many of us spend so much time feeling the lack. As I’ve said in my previous post - raise your vibration.

If you would like to understand more about Self-love, would like to attract love into your life, a love that is right for you, then contact me for SL Coaching.

Ultimately, it all begins with fostering a sense of self-acceptance in the present and letting go of the illusion that happiness lies somewhere in the future. Make it your primary goal to feel good above all else everyday. Know your worth, truly value yourself and change will occur. Know this, when your perspective is rooted in your own happiness, the transformations in your life and in the lives of those around you, will be truly remarkable.

My Self-Love Workbook - Make Yourself a Priority is available in my bio.

It can be incredibly exhausting to invest all our energy into something that doesn’t offer the same in return. There comes a moment when you reach your limit and realise, “that’s it.” When you reach this point, feeling drained and exhausted, it becomes clear that it’s time to redirect that love and energy back to yourself.

Allow yourself some breathing space and know that some people in our lives come with an expiry date and that’s ok because not everyone is meant to stay.

If you are experiencing relationship issues, be that with family or friends, it may be time to get off the “merry go round” and stop resisting. Hypnotherapy will give you the much needed relaxation you need to get back on the road to a happier you. The answers will not come from me but from your subconscious mind. You know innately what is right for you, but sometimes you may need support and that’s where I come in. I help you retrieve the right feelings to create the right actions and the result you want.

Intuitive inner prompts and realisations occur during and after a hypnotic session. You will connect with deep inner wisdom. The less stress you have the more empowered you become, which is why hypnotherapy takes place in a calming environment.
