Life Coach/Self-Love Coach
CBT SFBT The prime objective of Hypnotherapy is to rid the mind of negative thought. There is no "one size fits all".

Pent up emotions, feelings of negativity and fear have a detrimental effect on our psyche. We act irrationally and our focus is disrupted. Therapeutic healing is obtained in a gentle and relaxing way. During the Hypnotherapy process you are guided by Kathryn to make positive changes to the thoughts and behaviours which you feel you want to change. We all have the ability within ourselves to improve our situations and bring about change. You are not asleep during Hypnosis, simply very relaxed. You can at all times move freely and you will not do anything that you do not wish to do. (This is not the same as stage hypnosis). The mind responds to positive changes when we are in a relaxed state. Prior to treatment it is necessary to discuss the nature of the problem in order to determine the right course of action. I work gently with clients and my aim is to support and oversee you on your journey. Every client is an individual which is why sessions are tailor made. I aim to get you through therapy as quickly as possible, however, it is necessary to make the changes you require manageable, therefore two or more sessions may be required. Support is crucial as you make your way to a more relaxed and fulfilled lifestyle. Clients can return at any time for additional help should they feel the need.

Glimmers are those small, often overlooked moments that bring feelings of joy, contentment, and gratitude. They can be sparked by everyday experiences, like listening to the sound of rain tapping against your window, the early morning birdsong or watching a beautiful sunset.

If we take a moment to appreciate what is happening around us, we may notice glimmers everywhere. They are always happening but we take so many moments of joy for granted. But, there is so much value to be had in these moments of pure bliss.

Glimmers have the power to elevate your mood. Today, take a moment to observe the beauty of nature and the little glimmers happening around you. Engaging in this mindful practice will anchor you in the present, helping to keep your thoughts from drifting into the past or racing ahead to the future.

Happy Glimmer Searching. What have you noticed today? Tell me all about them. ✨✨

We were not all brought up in homes where expressing needs or establishing limits was welcomed with open arms.
When a parent or caregiver overlooks a child's emotional, psychological, or physical needs, the child may come to believe that their own needs are insignificant. Growing up in such an environment often leads individuals to suppress their discomfort, prioritising harmony or a sense of stability in a relationship, even if it is detrimental or unhealthy. It may seem simpler to maintain a relationship, than to express one’s needs and risk the chance of rejection or being isolated. When boundaries are established and relationships either deteriorate or change, it can further embed these negative beliefs, creating a cycle that feels challenging to escape.

Setting boundaries is an essential aspect of self-care, not an act of selfishness. Boundaries help to safeguard your energy and prevent you from feeling resentment toward others.

You are worthy of relationships that prioritise respect and mutual understanding and by starting small you can become more confident setting boundaries and feeling comfortable with your choices. Boundaries are not designed to segregate you from others, rather they provide the space you need to be yourself. Consider boundaries as a pathway to more respectful relationships. By establishing limits we create a clear guide for others to follow, leading to less stress and better communication.

If you are struggling to voice your opinions or make your boundaries clear to others, I can help you. You will receive guidance on how to set boundaries and therapy in relation to confidence and assertiveness. Engaging with others who completely understand your journey is vital for your success.

Developing patience is a tough skill to learn, and for many, the ability to endure the discomfort can be difficult. Patience demands that we confront and accept our feelings of unease while we wait for something we desire.

Winter, to me, seems to arrive in mid January. The increased daylight is slow but welcomed and days can be extremely cold. Most people feel the need to “hibernate” during this period, and we find ourselves waiting. Waiting for more sunlight, waiting for warmer weather, waiting for a general feeling of ease to emerge to lift the spirits. But, are we patient when we wait?

Practising mindfulness and learning to build your tolerance for discomfort will undoubtedly strengthen your patience.
The key is to get out of your head, use your senses, and think of the moment you’re in. The Now. One way I practice patience is by allowing cars to zoom in front of me. I “give way” waving to acknowledge my fellow drivers. I love doing this, it makes me feel so good. I’m a pretty patient person anyway but I can still have my off days!! Slowing down is all it takes.

Winter demands that nature slows down. During this time we may consider our own self-care. I enjoy the solitude, the contemplative mood that sweeps over me and the joy of not having to be somewhere. A peaceful amble, when suitably wrapped in warm clothes, can be so calming. A mindful pursuit that brings clarity, and patience. There is a time for everything and winter can teach us the importance of waiting for that time with patience. The way you respond during moments of waiting is the key.

Winter is not for everyone, nor is solitude, I do understand that, and during this period of waiting, if you feel anxious about things not moving as quickly as they should, try a deeply relaxing Hypnotherapy session. We weren’t all taught the value of patience as children, and it seems a lot of us have been lured by the delights of instant gratification, only to find impatience or fear.

When we take harmony into consideration it will most certainly yield positive results, creating a sense of compassion towards not only ourselves and our surroundings but also the world.

We live in a busy, noisy society and that noise continues within. Our minds are overloaded with doubts and fears, leading to stress and anxiety. Tension arises when we become fearful snd anxious and this in turn leads us to lack confidence in our abilities and actions.

Harmony, a word often used by musicians when they are creating a beautiful order of instruments. Everything is in sync. The word harmony comes from the Greek word “harmonia” which means “to fit together”, and we can learn a lot from this. When someone sings off key or plays a wrong note we immediately can hear the disharmony.
Yet, when a choir sings in unison we hear the pleasing effects of those in balance.
When working to produce equilibrium within our own mind, we are choosing to embrace all our characteristics, in order to create a beautiful individual. It’s not easy, I know that. However, most of us are aware of our shortcomings. Personal development helps to address our weaknesses and seek out the positive aspects.

Living more harmoniously with our neighbours or people within our vicinity is a great way to build relationships and create peaceful environments that have a lasting effects. A peaceful mind is a quiet mind, a harmonious mind, and when we generate peace for ourselves, it leads to increased productivity, better decision making and a better quality of living. May peace be with you all today

Solvitur Ambulando (Latin), “it is solved by walking”

I came across this beautiful phrase and it stayed with me for some time. I was thinking about how we let go of things when we walk. We walk to solve problems, we walk when we need to find creative solutions, we walk off our emotions. Problems, it seems, are best encountered when we walk.

We walk away from difficulties, problem people, situations, and many more issues because we don’t want to face them. But, we can walk toward. When we deliberately walk toward something or someone, we are making the choice to accept what is. We are not avoiding unpleasantness, opening bills, reading emails, sidestepping awkward conversations and so forth.

It is difficult to walk toward things, I get that. We are all facing many challenges and different situations. It’s not easy to walk towards something that fills you with dread or fear. We run away from those things, as the adrenaline kicks in. But, in time, many of us have to face things. So, maybe walking is the solution. You choose in which direction you want to walk.

Take it slow, free your mind and allow those insights to come to you with solutions that may help you through.

I caught a snippet of “Miranda” last night. For those of you who don’t know, it’s a comical sitcom. She was visiting a school and she said “why are we told to walk not run”, she ran and promptly fell over 😉 (silly I know)!! It leads me to say, don’t run, walk.

May you walk your way through things, and come out the other side with knowledge and experience. May walking prove to be a useful resource when it comes to problem solving and coming up with creative ideas and strategies. But, more than anything may your walk be enlightening, enjoyable and bring you closer to your dreams.

Every time you walk, think of this “Solvitur Ambulando”

Winter appears to be upon us in the UK with the gentle arrival of snow, although the rain still prevails and mushed up together it can get slushy 😏

December saw a frenzy of activity, one way or another, and most of us are frazzled. Whilst January brings a newness, renewed vision and hopes and dreams that set the pace for the year ahead, we may not be feeling up to par.
With that in mind we may need to tweak our plans to reflect available energies.

It’s ok to say “no”to more socialising. It’s ok to find yourself a pocket of peace and enjoy time with yourself. You don’t necessarily have to curl up like a door mouse, keeping active for your health is a must. But by saying no to demands on your time and energy could replenish your resources, so that you can follow through with the hopes and dreams you have mapped out in line with your goals for the remainder of the year.

Choose JOMO over FOMO by

There are so many ways you can use your time to recharge your batteries and fill your cup. JOMO is not about completely losing touch with everyone. It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, some people are energised by connection. It’s about finding contentment in choosing to opt-out. You do not have to attend every invitation thrust upon you. It’s your choice. That in my book is self-care. Enjoy your JOMO.
