Today is National Poetry Day.

This is one of our favourites we hear at funerals, it’s She Is Gone by David Harkins.

It’s the poem that was read at the funeral of the Queen Mother in 2002.

If your body is accepted for donation, many families still choose to hold a meaningful ceremony without the body present, to celebrate their loved one’s life and honour their decision to donate.

It’s important to know that not all bodies are accepted for donation, so it’s vital to have plans for what type of funeral you wish for, if this were to happen.

At Marcus Adams, your loved one stays in our care.

You can still say goodbye, place special items in the coffin or spend time in our Chapel of Rest. Then on the day of the cremation, your loved one is carefully transported to the local crematorium for a cremation without a service or mourners present. After the cremation the ashes are returned to you.

It’s all handled with the same dignity, care and respect we bring to every service.

We have some wonderful news to share!

At the weekend, our very own Stu Mason recently received his NAFD Funeral Arranging and Administration (FAA) Certificate at the NAFD Graduation Ceremony.

His dedication to completing this rigorous 12-month qualification shows his commitment to serving our community.

The FAA Certificate means Stu has an even deeper understanding of the sensitive communication and key responsibilities involved in arranging a funeral.

We're incredibly proud of him and know that his hard work will continue to help us care for the families of Halesowen with the highest level of compassion and professionalism.
