FirstAid4Farms

FirstAid4Farms A lack of first aid has a big impact on agricultural, forestry and fishing workers. FirstAid4Farms will equip businesses to handle a first aid emergency.

According to figures from the Health and Safety Executive, the agricultural sector is the most dangerous industry in the UK. On average, between 40 and 50 workers are killed on British farms every year. That’s almost one person per week, a higher death rate than construction or manufacturing. FirstAid4Farms runs first aid training courses, specifically for farmers. The sessions focus on the treatm

ent of common farming injuries including severe bleeding, amputations, crush injuries and hypothermia and also gives more general first aid advice such as how to give CPR, or deal with burns and scalds.

“Knowing what to do in the first minutes of an emergency situation could dramatically increase your chance of survival. We want to equip farmers with the skills needed to save a life".
