We caught up with our Practice Manager, Claire, to ask her about her role and what she enjoys most about it. Here's what she had to say:
👉 What do you enjoy most about helping patients choose their glasses?
I love seeing someone’s face light up when they find the perfect pair! It’s not just about vision — it’s about confidence and personality. Helping someone feel great in their glasses is very rewarding.
👉 What are you most excited about in your new role at the Halesowen practice?
I’m looking forward to getting to know our patients and becoming part of the local community. Every day is different, and I enjoy learning from the team and helping make the whole experience friendly and relaxed.
👉 What's your top tip for finding the perfect frame?
Try something slightly out of your comfort zone, you might be surprised what suits you! The right frame balances your features and reflects your personal style, so don’t be afraid to experiment a little.
👉 Do you have a favourite eyewear trend or brand at the moment?
I'm loving bold colours, I get excited when someone walks in looking for something colourful. In contrast, I really like crystal acetate frames—they add a fun twist without being too bold. Brand-wise, I’m a big fan of Eco Eyewear for their sustainable styles that still look great. The Eco frames come with a bespoke clip-on sunglass, which means you essentially get two pairs!
👉 What do you love most about working in an independent optician's?
It’s the personal touch. We get to spend more time with each patient, really listen, and offer tailored advice. There’s a strong sense of community and care that you just don’t get in a bigger chain.
