Set in the West Midlands town of Halesowen, Gower Gardens is a purpose-built, luxury care home offering residential and dementia care.

Part of the Kingsley Healthcare Group. Gower Gardens is a purpose built, dementia friendly home, offering the highest quality of residential care in a stylish and homely environment. The home provides 66 en-suite rooms across three floors, all furnished to the highest standard. There are a range of lounges and quiet rooms, so that individuals are able to enjoy a varied lifestyle. Within the home there is also a purpose built cinema room, on-site hairdressing facilities and a café area. Our aim is to provide the right care, tailored to meet residents’ individual needs and preferences. We want to support residents to maximise their independence.

A mother’s love is never lost to time; it lives on in the kindness we show, the strength we carry, and the warmth we pass on to others.
Whether we can hug them today or hold them only in our hearts, every mother who has loved us has left a piece of her heart within ours.
Today we honour and remember all mothers, past and present, whose love continues to shape our lives every single day.

The HomefromHome toddler group recently paid a delightful visit to Gower Gardens Care Home, bringing energy, laughter, and plenty of smiles with them.

The children spent time singing songs, playing simple games, and chatting with the residents, creating a lovely atmosphere throughout the home. Residents thoroughly enjoyed watching the toddlers play and joining in with the activities, with many sharing stories and enjoying the special intergenerational moment.

Visits like these are always treasured at Gower Gardens, as they help build meaningful connections between young and old while brightening everyone’s day. The team and residents are already looking forward to welcoming the HomefromHome group back again soon. 😊

Today we celebrate International Women’s Day by honouring the incredible women in our community and the amazing lives they’ve lived.

🌸 Through fun caricature portraits, we’ve brought to life some of the wonderful roles our residents held throughout their careers — from teachers inspiring young minds, florist managers bringing beauty to every day, market traders serving their communities, to shorthand typists keeping busy offices running smoothly.

Each role tells a story of dedication, strength, and passion. Today we celebrate the achievements, memories, and wisdom of all the fabulous women who continue to inspire us every day. 💜

With Easter just around the corner, Gower Gardens is proud to be holding another exciting raffle to celebrate the season.

Tickets are available to purchase from reception at just £1 per strip, giving everyone a chance to get involved while supporting a wonderful cause.

All proceeds raised will be donated to the British Heart Foundation at the end of the event, helping to fund vital research and support for those affected by heart and circulatory diseases.

The lucky winner will be announced during our Easter egg hunt, making it a fun and meaningful celebration for all to enjoy.

For World Wildlife Day, our residents embraced the opportunity to express what wildlife means to them through art.

As they painted, each person chose colours and scenes that reflected their own feelings—peace, freedom, strength, and beauty inspired by animals around the world.

Some shared memories of countryside walks, favourite animals, or travels from years gone by, while others focused on the importance of caring for nature for future generations.

The session became more than just a craft activity; it was a heartfelt celebration of the natural world and a meaningful way for everyone to share what truly matters to them.

Over the weekend, our wonderful Activity Coordinator, Anne Marie, hosted a heartwarming reminiscence afternoon with some of our residents. It was a lovely opportunity for everyone to sit back, relax, and take a gentle trip down memory lane.

Anne Marie brought along a collection of old newspapers, vintage advertisements, and familiar household products from their early years, sparking smiles and animated conversations around the room. Residents eagerly shared stories about growing up, family traditions, and how everyday items have changed over time.

Laughter and fond memories filled the space as they chatted about prices in the old newspapers, popular brands from their youth, and the excitement of simpler times. It was a truly special afternoon that encouraged connection, storytelling, and the joy of reminiscing together.

Our residents recently turned up the fun and truly partied like they do in Mardi Gras, bringing the spirit of New Orleans right into our community! With vibrant decorations, festive beads, and plenty of laughter filling the air, everyone embraced the celebration in style.

The highlight of the event was live entertainment from Debbie, whose incredible performance had residents clapping, singing along, and even dancing in their seats. Her lively energy and crowd-pleasing tunes captured the heart of Mardi Gras, creating an afternoon full of joy, music, and unforgettable memories for everyone who attended.

Chinese New Year, also known as the Lunar New Year, is a vibrant and meaningful celebration that marks the beginning of a new year on the traditional Chinese calendar. This special holiday is filled with rich traditions, including family gatherings, festive decorations in red and gold, the giving of lucky red envelopes, and wishes for prosperity, happiness, and good fortune in the year ahead.

To honor this joyful occasion, our residents came together to enjoy a delicious Chinese-themed lunch, featuring a variety of flavorful dishes inspired by traditional cuisine.

The celebration provided a wonderful opportunity for everyone to learn about Chinese culture, share in the festive spirit, and welcome the new year with warmth, unity, and excitement.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and is a deeply meaningful period for Muslims around the world.

It is a month of fasting from dawn to sunset, centred on prayer, reflection, self-discipline, and community, with the fast traditionally broken each evening in a shared meal known as Iftar.

In the spirit of inclusion and togetherness, we celebrate Ramadan to learn more about the significance of the month and show support for fellow team members, and celebrate the diversity that strengthens our workplace.

Residents and Staff enjoyed sampling delicious food and sweets at our recent event.
