✨New treatment alert✨
Cupping treatments available with Kasey from Tuesday 29th July! This is one not to be missed!

Dry cupping allows the body to release cells to promote healing. The vacuum of the cup causes separation of the different layers of tissue which causes micro trauma- this is registered by the body, and sterile inflammation is initiated to help healing.

Dry cupping saturates the tissue with fresh blood while the vacuum pulls stagnant blood out of the area. The body will begin to develop new blood vessels (neovascularisation) that will have the capability to feed the tissues with nutrients and oxygen.

When 10 or so cups are used around an injured area it can produce a stretch reflex within the connective tissue and fascia which results in increased pliability and range of movement.

The cups can be placed around an area of oedema after an injury to help draw the fluid away.

Cupping in conjunction with active movement stimulates the nervous system and aids in re-educating muscle memory and proprioception.

Dry cupping can be used within a sports massage or as a stand alone treatment.

Cups can be placed over areas that massage can’t treat like the spine, IT band and popliteal space.

The amount of suction applied to the cups is tailored to the patient’s tolerance and to the area of the body that is being treated, meaning the treatment is suitable for patients of any age and sensitivity.

Bookings will be available online at the end of this week, or you can call or message to book for 29th July onwards.

What’s the theory behind dry cupping?

•Dry cupping produces sterile inflammation. This is where the body releases white blood cells, platelets, fibroblasts and other chemicals to promote healing. The vacuum of the cup causes separation of the different layers of tissue which can cause micro trauma and tearing, this is registered by the body and sterile inflammation is initiated.

•Dry cupping saturates the tissue with fresh blood while the vacuum pulls stagnant blood out of the area. The body will begin to develop new blood vessels (neovascularisation) that will have the capability to feed the tissues with nutrients and oxygen.

•Cupping in conjunction with active movement stimulates the nervous system and aids in re-educating muscle memory and proprioception.

Dry cupping can be used within a sports massage or as a stand alone treatment and will soon be available to book!

After completing my MASCED accreditation I’m now educated on how to detect the early signs of skin cancer, the most common kind of cancer.
During a treatment I see areas of my patient’s skin that they are unable to see themselves, meaning my observations of regular patients puts me in a perfect position to advise them of anything I see a change of or think they should get checked.

The app can be downloaded off of their website and used by everyone to monitor lesions and obtain advice.

A little news update for Halesworth patients!

•I will be offering 45 minute appointments from May for those who would like that little bit more than a 30 minute treatment

•There will be a £5 price increase for sports massage to differentiate between sports and deep tissue massages going forward, this will not affect existing bookings but will apply to any going forward

Thank you for giving me the privilege to do something I love, without your continued support and recommendations to family and friends I wouldn’t be where I am now, thank you all 🖤

Today is World Lymphoedema day!🌍🎗️

To celebrate, I’m telling you a few facts about Lymphoedema:

Did you know:

🦵There are two types of Lymphoedema - Primary (caused by genetic mutations) and Secondary (caused by damage to the lymphatic system due to factors such as cancer treatment, surgery or injury)

💪Over 200,000 people are affected by Lymphoedema in the UK

✋Decongestive Lymphatic Therapy is the comprehensive treatment plan for managing Lymphoedema, it includes manual lymphatic drainage massage alongside compression garments, exercise, skin care and self drainage massage.

🦶Manual lymphatic drainage massage uses a very light pressure because the initial lymphatic system that the massage works with is close to the skin’s surface
