Alexander House is a wheelchair accessible home in the Savile Park area of Halifax. We are a homely and relaxed residential care home for individuals aged over 65 years old. We have 18 bedrooms, ten of which are ensuite bedrooms and have several accessible bathrooms throughout the home to support individuals with a physical disability. We are proud of our Good CQC rating and work closely with our
residents, the people who are important to them and our local care teams to ensure the people we support at Alexander House live well in our homely surroundings. Our staff are experienced to support individuals in a person-centred way with additional experience of supporting people who live with the early symptoms of Dementia. At Alexander House we understand how important mealtimes are. In our 5* food hygiene rated kitchen our catering team prepares nutritious, home-cooked meals based on residents’ choices, preferences, and dietary requirements. Alexander House is situated in the former Vicarage of the nearby Holy Trinity and St Jude’s Church so there are lots of original features which have been well looked after over the years. We have an open plan living room and dining room, a lovely conservatory with wonderful views over the nearby moor land and our residents make their rooms their own. We have a well-used patio area, a hairdresser salon on site and visiting chiropody service. Internet and WiFi is available at Alexander House for all to use. Our home is suitable for wheelchair users. There is parking on site. We have plenty of local amenities close to us at Alexander House – local shops, pharmacy, supermarket and sandwich shops, and we are close to Halifax Town Centre. Savile Park also hosts regional events like the Halifax Annual Agricultural Show and our home is on a local bus route. Our home benefits from a dedicated activities coordinator who plans activities around what is important to the people living with us. We regularly enjoy quizzes, bingo, skittles, and bowling. We organise themed days throughout the year and have a summer fayre each year. Lots of external entertainers visit us on a regular basis with us having close links to the community around us. We organise trips and regular visits to the Arden Road Social Club where there is a dementia café, free activities and regular parties. Our staff team is dedicated to Alexander House so residents will get to know the people providing their support – many staff have worked at Alexander House for many years and Pam Reid the experienced Registered Manager leads a happy and committed team. If you would like to come join us at Alexander House, please download our brochure, contact us by phone or email, and we can arrange a visit to discuss your care needs and how Alexander House can support you or your loved one.
