We had the honour & absolute privilege of arranging & conducting the Celebration of John Hardy’s Life at our beautiful Halifax Minster on Friday - and what a ‘send-off he had!
The Church Bells 🔔 rang, the Choir sung 🎶 and hundreds of people turned out to pay their respects to this very Special Man.
A true ‘Mr Halifax’ John was a former Lord Mayor of Calderdale, and much respected Conservative Councillor, acting for the Skircoat Ward, in particular.
(We took him on a tour, on our way to the Minster)
Thank you, John, for all of your Good Work, and for opening my Greenwood Room in 2013.
Gone, but never forgotten - especially for your wonderful smile!

Well, 15 years ago today I bought the Falcon Inn at Salterhebble Hill, and transformed it into a beautiful Funeral Parlour 🤍
A lot has happened in those years - including the challenging road-widening scheme, a Pandemic and some true heartbreak, after losing both of my parents 💔
There have been some lovely Christmas Tree Memorial Days🎄 quite a bit of snow ❄️ some sunshine ☀️ flowering pots 🪴 🌺 a Coronation 👑 my busy year as President of The British Institute of Funeral Directors, a sponsored walk for Andy’s Man Club, and now even more roadworks!
Myself & my dedicated team have ploughed on through it all, in this very special job ❤️
Thank you to everyone who has supported me, and especially in the sad times, over these years (you know who you are) and to my lovely late parents, Keith & Janet Greenwood, who were always willing to lend a loving hand at the Parlour 🤍

Amanda attended the ‘Farewell Service’ of our good friend, Revd. Colin Sherwood, this afternoon.
She wished him well, on behalf of all of the Funeral Directors in Calderdale, as he leaves to carry on his New Chapter of Ministry in Peterborough ⛪️

We are sad to see him go, as Colin has carried out many, many Funeral Services for bereaved families in Calderdale, with great empathy, care & even a song, occasionally! 🎶
God Bless you Colin & thank you for your support & love 🤍🙏

Michael John Osbourne (Ozzy), passed away peacefully in his hometown of Birmingham with his family by his side yesterday, aged 76 years.
Rest in peace, Ozzy - Prince of Darkness, true Heavy Metal Legend, who sold over 100 million albums, and was rocking until the end! 🎶 🎸
Our thoughts are with Sharon & the family 🖤

Amanda was out & about last weekend, and had a long chat in the ‘Big 6’ with the rugby union legend and sports presenter that is BRIAN MOORE - a famous ho**er who played for England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 and the British & Irish Lions 🦁
He now lives down South, but was in his hometown of Halifax for a good friend’s funeral 🤍
Brian was talking to Amanda about a book that he is writing about retirement, and also the subject of Direct Cremations.
He firmly believes that a life should be Celebrated, which is why he was in Halifax to say a final goodbye to his old chum 🤍
