Great to welcome the Ark House team to The Basement Recovery Project. Always good to connect and share ideas across the recovery community.

ARK HOUSE WORKING WITHIN THE RECOVERY COMMUNITY

Today Ark House team member and host of IN RECOVERY - The Ark House podcast, Richard, travelled to Halifax to meet the inspiring Michelle Foster, CEO of the incredible The Basement Recovery Project.

Visiting vital community services like The Basement Recovery Project is key to Ark House. Seeing what help is out there for when our residents leave rehab is so important to us. We can share ideas, see what's going on in communities and meet the team who make such a difference to peoples lives.

The Basement Recovery Project is an award-winning, community-based organisation built on the expertise of lived experience. They operate throughout Calderdale to offer those in addiction to alcohol or drugs a new way of life, free from the need or desire to use any mood-altering substance.

Michelle talks about her 20 year journey with The Basement Recovery Project on Season Two of IN RECOVERY - The Ark House podcast which is coming this summer.

We want to thank Michelle and the team for welcoming us today and look forward to sharing the amazing chat we had today.

The Basement Recovery Project, alongside Branching Out and Calderdale Recovery Steps, recently came together to create an awareness video for cadets at West Yorkshire Police in Wakefield.

The video focuses on some of the key services and support pathways most relevant to police officers and first responders, helping future officers better understand how we support people affected by alcohol and drug misuse across Calderdale.

While it does not cover every part of what we do, it gives a helpful overview of how our organisations work together and the importance of joined-up recovery support within our communities.

We felt this would also be useful for partners, professionals, and the wider community to see.
