Alzheimerās is the most common type of dementia, accounting for around 6 in 10 cases in the UK.
It affects memory, reasoning and daily life over time ā but dementia and Alzheimerās arenāt the same thing. Dementia is the umbrella term, while Alzheimerās is one type within it.
