The UK government is testing the Emergency Alerts system on Sunday 7 September 2025 at 3pm.

Compatible mobile phones and tablets will receive an alert, make a loud siren-like sound and vibrate. You will not need to take any action.

The Emergency Alerts system is used to warn if there’s a danger to life
nearby, including extreme weather. Regular testing ensures the system is
functioning correctly.

Back in June, at our CFFC event hosted at Harveys of Halifax, we talked about how vital it is to support our town’s only independent department store. Out of that came this simple idea: let’s go back, enjoy lunch, do a bit of shopping, and show some support.

Lunch & Shopping at Harveys
📅 Thursday 4 September, 1–3pm
📍 Harveys of Halifax (head to the top floor to claim your vouchers)

This isn’t a networking event. Just a relaxed couple of hours to browse, chat, and treat yourself while backing a family-run Halifax landmark.

Exclusive for our group:

10% off anywhere in-store

50% off food and drink in the restaurant

Everyone’s welcome – members, non-members, friends, colleagues.

RSVP here so we can sort the catering:

🏊‍♀️💪 40 for 40! Our CEO’s Sponsored Swim Challenge 💜🎉

To mark 40 years of WomenCentre, our amazing CEO Angela is diving into a bold challenge — swimming 40 lengths, 40 times, to help us raise £75,000 in support of the vital work we do. 🙌

She’s already halfway there, with 20 swims completed and a personal pledge to donate £4 for every 40-length swim — that’s £160 plus Gift Aid from her own pocket!
