This week across Changing Lives we are supporting Sexual Abuse & Sexual Violence Awareness Week 💜

We deliver services supporting s*x workers, people who’ve experienced s*xual exploitation, and those involved in survival s*x, groups often at heightened risk yet are often the least believed, least supported, and most stigmatised.

5.1 million adults faced domestic abuse, s*xual assault or stalking last year - that’s 1 in 10 people.

We remain committed to supporting survivors of Sexual Abuse and Violence and tackling it in all its forms.

On Monday 2nd Feb a documentary will be shown on BBC2 at 9pm called 'Lover Liar Predator'. (It will be available to watch on iPlayer from Sun 1st Feb).
This extraordinary film tells the story of four courageous women — all harmed by the same dangerous man — who refuse to stay silent. Together, they join forces to hold him to account, take him to trial, and ultimately bring him to justice.

At the heart of this documentary are the women’s voices, their truth, and their strength. And 'Own My Life' plays a vital role in helping to put the abuser behind bars.

Our Calderdale Staying Safe team run the 'Own My Life' 12 week course throughout the year.
Please do get in touch on 01422 323339 if you are affected by the documentary or would like to know more about the 'Own My Life' course.

As we get closer to International Women's Day 2026, we're asking what can you do to support the cause?

International Women’s Day is a powerful opportunity to celebrate women, raise awareness, and take action on the issues that matter most.

We’re inviting individuals, community groups, organisations, schools and partners to get involved by:
💜Organising events or activities
💜Hosting fundraisers
💜Raising awareness in your workplace or community
💜Supporting women-centred causes in ways that feel meaningful to you

Whether your idea is big or small, every action makes a difference.

➡️If you’d like to get involved, collaborate, or have an idea you’d like support with, we’d love to hear from you.
