"Hey everyone, we've noticed that 2 out of 4 of our Baby Einstein musical cot toys have gone missing. These toys are a popular piece of equipment and help to soothe our younger patients, making their hospital stay more calming.

We kindly ask that when you're discharged, all toys and equipment are left by the bed so they can be cleaned and given to another patient. Most of our equipment, including these toys, have been generously donated by families who have been on the ward with their child in the past, and want to help make a difference.

Your help in keeping these items available is greatly appreciated!”

All our Mum's received Mother's Day gifts yesterday to try and brighten their day whilst being in hospital with their children.
Thank you to Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Charity for providing some of the contents of our goody bags which were very well received with lots of smiles (and a few happy tears).

Various activities for World Book Day... make your own headband, use your imagination to put on a puppet show, colouring and story time with Peppa and friends. Each child chose a new book from our reading trolley resulting in lots of smiles ☺️

What a fantastic day at Eureka! on Friday.

Families joined us for a fun, hands-on event packed with activities showcasing children’s therapies, children’s community nursing, play work and midwifery. From movement challenges and sensory play to communication games and health-focused activities, children (and grown-ups!) explored what our roles look like in real life.

It was wonderful to work alongside colleagues from Calderdale Council and Calderdale College, sharing the breadth of our professions and how families can access our services.

A huge thank you to the team at Eureka and our brilliant Widening Participation colleagues for facilitating such an engaging and inspiring day. We loved introducing families to the many ways we support children and young people across Calderdale.

We would like to say a huge thank you to the Albie Sugden Foundation for their incredibly generous donation to the children's ward at Calderdale Royal Hospital. Thanks to their support, we now have a beautiful new home corner kitchen, lovingly named Albie's Kitchen, creating a special space for play, imagination and comfort for our young patients. The donation also included three wonderful Buzzy Bees 🐝 which help to support children and young people whilst they are having cannulas, blood tests and other procedures — offering comfort and distraction during what can be a difficult moment. We are so grateful for your kindness and the difference you are making to children and families in our care 💛 🦁 💛

The Learning Disability Improvement Standards help make sure people with learning disabilities and autism get good care. Hospitals must respect their rights and involve them in their care.

NHS England wants to know how we can do better. Your answers in the survey will help us improve our services.
