Yoga: Honour Through Movement

Yoga: Honour Through Movement Hi, I am a qualified 400 hour Yoga and Restorative Yoga teacher. I am trained in LYT physio based movement

I’ve recently opened up a little more space for private yoga sessions, which feels really exciting 🤍

These sessions are completely tailored to you—your body, your goals, and how you want to feel.

Whether you’re looking to improve your posture, build strength, feel more mobile, or just have space to slow down and breathe… we shape it around you.

It’s also a really lovely option if group classes feel a bit overwhelming or you just want more guidance and support.

If you’ve been curious about working together 1:1, just send me a message and we can have a chat.

Most of us don’t think about our feet when we move…

…but they are literally the foundation for everything above them.

When you lift your heels vs your toes, you’re not just moving your foot — you’re changing:
• how your muscles switch on
• how your joints stack
• how your weight is distributed
• how your core responds

👉 Your feet send information up the body.

If they’re not doing their job well, the body adapts:
• ankles stiffen
• knees compensate
• hips grip
• lower back works harder

That’s when we start to feel:
• instability
• tension
• or even pain higher up

✨ This is why we train the feet.

Not just to “stretch” them…
…but to wake them up, strengthen them, and reconnect them to the rest of the body.

This week in class we’re exploring:
👣 awareness
👣 control
👣 how small changes at the feet create big shifts everywhere else

Because when your foundation is strong and responsive…
everything above it can move with more ease.

Feel the feet - Yoga class on Monday 13th and a Tuesday 14th April ❤️

We don’t give them much attention, but the feet shape how the whole body moves.

If the arches aren’t supported or the toes can’t move well, it often shows up further up — ankles, knees, hips, even the spine.

When the feet are strong and responsive, everything else tends to organise more easily.
Balance improves. Movement feels lighter.

In this class we’ll slow things down and work on strength, mobility, and stability through the feet.

Simple work, but it makes a difference.

✨ Restorative Yoga + Somatic Movement - Friday 17th April ✨

This class is about slowing right down.

Through gentle, deliberate somatic movement, we release habitual tension and reconnect to how the body actually feels — not how we think it should move. These small, mindful movements help calm the nervous system, soften tight areas (neck, shoulders, hips), and create a sense of ease and safety in the body.

We then settle into restorative yoga, where the body is fully supported by props so there’s nothing to hold, no effort to make, and nowhere to rush to.

🧘‍♀️ Props we use:
• Bolsters to support the spine
• Blankets for warmth and comfort
• Blocks to bring the ground closer
• Eye pillows to quiet the mind

This is a beautiful way to release the week, step out of “doing mode,” and ease gently into the weekend feeling grounded, spacious, and deeply rested.

Come as you are. Leave feeling softer.

✨ Support the Cuff - Tuesday 7th April ✨

A shoulder-focused yoga class designed to build strength, stability, and resilience in your entire shoulder complex.

Your shoulders do a lot for you every day — from reaching and lifting to supporting your posture and breath. This class is here to support them right back.

What to expect:
Intentional movement to activate and strengthen the rotator cuff muscles, alongside the surrounding stabilisers of the shoulders, upper back, and core. Think functional, intelligent movement that helps your body move better — not just stretch more.

Benefits of this class:
✔️ Improve shoulder stability and control
✔️ Build strength in often underused muscles
✔️ Support better posture (especially if you sit at a desk)
✔️ Reduce risk of injury in yoga, workouts, and daily life
✔️ Enhance mobility without compromising strength
✔️ Deepen your mind-to-body connection

No shoulder issues? You’re still very welcome.
This class isn’t just for rehab — it’s for prehab. Strengthening your shoulder system before problems arise is one of the best ways to keep doing the things you love, pain-free.

Whether you’re flowing through vinyasa, lifting weights, carrying kids, or working at a desk — resilient shoulders matter.

Move smarter. Feel stronger. Support your body for the long run.

Please bring a mat all other props are provided. Booking through www.honourthroughmovement.com

Reset Your Foundation 🌿

Your lower body is your base for everything—how you move, how you balance, and how you feel in your body.

This class is designed to bring strength, mobility, and ease back into your hips, knees, ankles, and lower back. Through mindful activation, controlled mobility work, and targeted stretching, you’ll build stability where your body needs support and create space where things feel tight or restricted.

Perfect if you’ve been doing a lot of upper-body work, sitting at a desk, or just feeling a little disconnected from your lower half—this is your chance to come back to your foundation.

Expect to leave feeling more grounded, supported, and connected from the ground up ✨

✨Stop just stretching—start moving with control ✨

It’s about adding small, controlled movements that engage your muscles and build stability.

Try the simple flow in this video next time you’re on your mat—it only takes 1–2 minutes and can make a huge difference over time..

Focus on control, not depth. Your body will thank you ❤️
