As part of our travel training at Step by Step, we regularly teach our service users to use public transport safely and confidently.
To help keep the cost of these trips as low as possible, we are asking parents and carers to apply for a Disabled Persons Railcard for their young person.
This railcard gives:
- 1/3 off rail fares for the cardholder
- 1/3 off for a companion travelling with them
This makes a big difference to the overall cost of our travel training days and helps us offer more opportunities.
What you need to do:
1. Apply for a Disabled Persons Railcard online
2. Provide the required evidence (details are listed on the application)
3. Once received, please let us know so we can use it when booking travel
You can apply here:

If you need any support with the application or have any questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch — we’re happy to help.
Thank you for your support in helping us make travel training more accessible and affordable.
