As part of our travel training at Step by Step, we regularly teach our service users to use public transport safely and confidently.
To help keep the cost of these trips as low as possible, we are asking parents and carers to apply for a Disabled Persons Railcard for their young person.

This railcard gives:
- 1/3 off rail fares for the cardholder
- 1/3 off for a companion travelling with them

This makes a big difference to the overall cost of our travel training days and helps us offer more opportunities.

What you need to do:

1. Apply for a Disabled Persons Railcard online
2. Provide the required evidence (details are listed on the application)
3. Once received, please let us know so we can use it when booking travel

🐣🌸 Easter Adventures 🌸🐣

Our calm, wholesome Easter activity devolved into our usual brand of chaos with some very enthusiastic sponge painting 🎨 Paint may or may not have ended up everywhere. How Julie managed to get her foot involved in the artwork, we’ll never know 😂

We went for a yummy picnic under a beautiful blue sky 🧺, and had a surprisingly competitive game of bowls, Stuart is getting good at that!

BUT the real highlight was following the trail of the Easter Bunny…

Our staf- ahem, I mean the Easter bunny, went all out, mischievously hiding eggs across our local park — some easy… some suspiciously well hidden 👀 — leading to lots of exploring, laughing, and epic chocolate rewards.

Our talented group at Access2Support got stuck into Easter crafts
We split into two teams and things got serious

🧙‍♂️ Team Harry Potter brought the magic, with spellbinding creations that would make Hogwarts proud

🧹 Team Wicked defied gravity with their bold, brilliant designs (and a dash of mischief 💚)

There was laughter, friendly rivalry, and plenty of “WAIT don’t touch it, it’s not finished yet!” 😂
Sadly, innocent fluffy chicks WERE harmed in the making (we’re looking at you Keith! 👀)

Yesterday was an epic day of adventure golf at Cheshire Oaks.

There were hole-in-one celebrations 🎉, “creative interpretations” of the rules 🤔, a few golf balls that decided to explore the scenery instead of the hole, and lots of laughter along the way.

Everyone smashed it — showing focus, determination, and some surprisingly impressive putting skills 🏌️‍♂️

Shoutout to our fantastic support staff who joined in the fun, kept the score and crowned the champions - Kathryn with 51 points and James with 47!

Step by step is all about developing skills and independence in small steps. Travel training is a good way to develop confidence on public transport, understand how to read timetables and get out into the community - safely. We are planning on taking the group on the bus to Cheshire oaks, watch the film, grab something to snack and then back on the bus home.

Anyone that is meeting us there must meet us outside the library for 9:30am and we will meet you there.

Can you please confirm attendance, in advance please.

Unfortunately this is only for people that attend on Tuesday group.

✨🎭 A Magical Day Out with Access2Support! 👑✨

Some of our lovely Access2Support group had an absolutely amazing time watching Cinderella at the beautiful Brindley Theatre 💙

The magic didn’t stop there… a few of our lucky service users even got to meet Cinderella and Prince Charming themselves! 👸🤴✨
