Labyrinthitis and vestibular neuritis/neuronitis are inner ear conditions which affect your balance. Labyrinthitis is inflammation of the labyrinth in the inner ear. Vestibular neuritis (or vestibular neuronitis) is inflammation of the vestibular nerve. Symptoms of both labyrinthitis and vestibular neuritis include dizziness and/or a feeling of spinning (vertigo), sickness or nausea. With labyrinthitis, hearing will also be affected.

South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnership is hosting a See Hear Information Event for people with sensory support needs on Wednesday 4 February from 10.30 am until 12.30 pm at East Kilbride Central Library.

This event is a drop-in; all are welcome – whether you have sensory support needs yourself or someone you care for does. Qualified BSL interpreters will be available.

If you or someone you care for is finding it hard to hear the TV, read the newspaper, or needs advice on equipment, benefits or specialist support, this event is for you.

There will be the opportunity to speak with several organisations that can provide you with information/support for yourself or a loved one. Organisations attending include RNIB, Sight Scotland , Healthy and Active, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People, Money Matters, OT Sensory Support Team, Housing, EK Talking Newspapers, Care and Repair in Lanarkshire , Lanarkshire Carers, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service , Voluntary Action South Lanarkshire , Deaf Action, NHS Lanarkshire Audiology Services , Deaf Services Lanarkshire.
