Visual Stress, also known as Meares-Irlen Syndrome, is a term used to describe visual symptoms which can be associated with reading, pattern sensitivity and/or light sensitivity/glare (photophobia). Approximately 10-20% of the general population suffer from Visual Stress. This may range from mild symptoms to severe.
Symptoms can include:
- movement of print
- blurring of print
- flicker from the page
- glare
- losing place when reading
- headache
- eyestrain
- fatigue when reading
- migraine
The symptoms of Visual Stress can be treated with the use of coloured overlays or lenses. The lens system we use at VeyeP Ltd is the Cerium Colorimeter. Colorimetry is the process which determines the optimum colour to treat your symptoms.
Benefits of treatment can include reduced number of headaches, improved reading, improved performance, and increased confidence.
