CITB SITE MANAGEMENT SAFETY TRAINING SCHEME (SMSTS) - REFERESHER

This is a two-day refresher of our full Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) course.

Taking this course renews your SMSTS certificate. It updates your knowledge of your responsibilities for site safety, health, welfare and the environment.

You must complete this refresher before your certificate expires or you will need to re-take the full course.

This is one the range of Site Safety Plus courses.

COURSE CONTENT

The current focus of the Health and Safety Executive’s attention
Risk assessment and method statements
Construction Site Health, Safety and Welfare
Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR)
Behavioural safety
Occupational health
Overview and changes to the current legislation affecting construction
The cost also includes publications, registration, certification, lunch and refreshments.

TEACHING AND ASSESSMENT

TEACHING:

This is a highly interactive course taught through case studies, classroom discussion, group work and individual or group presentations.

ASSESSMENT:

Continuous assessment. You need to attend the full days - see the Site Safety Plus attendance requirements.

Under regulations 7 of The Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999 every employer shall appoint one or more competent persons to assist them in undertaking the measures needed to meet statutory obligations.

The competent person can be an external consultant which for many companies can be beneficial due to size, location or structure.

IOSH ENVIRONMENT FOR BUSINESS

WHAT
IOSH Environment for Business provides managers & supervisors with an awareness of environmental impacts and sustainability.

The course has been created and quality controlled by the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health the chartered body for health and safety.

HOW
The training is delivered in one day by one of our professional trainers either at our bespoke training facility or at our client’s premises.

WHY
The benefits of companies becoming more environmentally sustainable are huge. Knowing how your company impacts the environment can ensure environmental regulation compliance, however our moral obligation to future generations should be a company’s priority.

ASBESTOS AWARENESS TRAINING COURSE

WHAT
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) are promoting a campaign on the legal requirement for asbestos awareness training and quote the following :

“All workers liable to disturb asbestos during their normal working duties should be suitably trained so that they can recognise asbestos containing materials and know what to do if they come across them.”

HOW
Acron can provide training to allow you to stay in line with HSE’s current legislation. We believe training courses should be tailored and research the target audience of the course prior to the presentation, to ensure the course is relevant to the attendees.

WHY
Awareness and training is key in the protection of the UK workforce, with regard to inadvertent exposure to asbestos.
