What a team ❤️

Managing expectations is so important no matter what phase you’re in.

Improvement phases/ bulks / growth phases or whatever term you want to call it are often the most under-utilised or at least executed incorrectly.

Regardless, setting the expectation and accepting you’re going to gain body fat and sit in a little bit of uncomfortableness is a necessary to see change.

The sooner you get okay with that and think of the greater good, the sooner you’ll see changes and honestly accept what’s the norm for how you’ll look most of the time.

Who wants to sit in constant cycles of failed diets anyway?)”!

Mad we’re 2 months down for 2026 already!

Better get after it folks 💪🏻

This week we welcomed 2 new coaches to the gym… one of which is to officially be announced!

Training continued to just keep ticking over… I’m contemplating a diet to keep me interested

Treadmills and Stairmasters all serviced with

Finally rounding up a top class break away in Dubai 🤌🏼

From business consults on the palm to a brunch in a fancy hotel!

But of course had to squeeze in a trip to a supergym 🤝🔥

Returned to some chaos so it’s still catch up time with some big things happening over the next few months!

Throwback to the golden era of PT…

When it was 6am starts, 9pm finishes and split shifts on the daily.

Training and check ins in between.

Saturday morning sessions, spin classes and it was about doing anything to get ahead.

I even used PT someone before the gym opened just to get more sessions in.

I’ve spoke about this a lot recently, but looking back it was just a buzz! I definitely don’t want to do it now but if I had to I would.

Aside from mad hours….

Making personal training work is about knowing your s**t, standing out, and being personable.

I was the first in my old gym to ask to get my clothing branded.

Took initiative to offer group education as part of my training after I seen a colleague do something similar.

Started doing further learning consistently- I aimed for 2 courses per year and in person event once a year.

Got it shape for shoots and encouraged clients towards it.

Now, for sure it’s harder to stand out but look at your competition. How can you do more, be better, provide more?

Simply doing more of what works will 100% pay off.

It’s not a forever thing, but it builds momentum and gets you at a better place.,

Simply do the work.

Decent week training in the bag 👌🏻

Although training with little direction is still rough going!

Almost every session I’m forcing myself into it.

The thing I want to improve I don’t enjoy (cardiovascular fitness) and I have a hard time letting go of the idea of losing strength.

I’m waiting for a hero to come along and tell me everything is going to be alright 😂

Still doing bits training wise, just trying to make it fun!

Had to shift my split about after a minor surgery but recovering very quickly so we’re back full tilt on upper body!

Next week will be the same for lower at this rate 🤌🏼

Another podcast recorded, another top class guest on in 🔥

I started the podcast to help launch a course and educate coaches.

After a weird epiphany, I realised it was a bit of shiny object syndrome.

And it’s now just turned into something that I just get cool folk on,that I think are doing great stuff in the fitness industry, especially in Scotland, and I pick their brain.

Class!

And hopefully from that coaches can upskill, we can promote the gym and people learn a bit in general to help their journeys too.

Selfishly I take loads from these podcasts.

For me, so much growth can come from simply having conversations with like minded people.

It keeps you motivated, inspires, prompts ideas.

If I could almost always be the dumbest person in the room I’d love, cause I’d learn a s**t tonne!

I’d save 1% of that time to be the smartest for an ego stroke 😂

Mind I used to bodybuild? 🤔

Now it’s full on business/ dad mode 🎯

It’s great that I can take the time and drive from bodybuilding and put it to other things.

But the biggest struggle is having a passion for training without a goal!

So if you’re starting a fitness journey or making a change but you don’t quite have the right direction.

Get clear and really dial in on some targets to hit and you’ll not only progress better, you’ll enjoy things more.

The secret really is in enjoying the journey.

I’ve got that clarity in life and business.

Maybe I can sacrifice not having it in fitness for a year!

Late to the party but here’s 2025 summed up…

Not too many lows, plenty of highs but a f**k load of stress as always!

I started my own education days,

Continued to learn myself and with our team,

Had clients place and win shows,

Enjoyed days in the sun,

Went our first family holiday as a 4!

Held our 1st birthday event at the gym,

Prepped clients for shoots and done my own shoot,

Teamed back up with the Don of Scottish bodybuilding for my last show,

Tried something different,

Started a podcast,

Held our yearly seminar for coaches,

Ended the year with family festivities!

Bring on 2026!
