Feeling a bit overwhelmed in the run up to the festive season? We’ve got you.

Box breathing is like a reset button for your mind and body. You inhale slowly for a count of four seconds, hold your breath for four, exhale for four, and pause for another four seconds. Repeat this for four rounds.

This powerful practice helps steady your heart rate, reduce anxiety, and boost your focus like a mental refresh button. Suddenly, that chaotic swirl of thoughts and stress starts to calm down.

Whether you’re facing a big presentation, dealing with a stressful situation, or just looking to find a moment of peace, box breathing can help you regain control and feel more centred and balanced.

Give it a go next time you’re feeling stuck in to-do list paralysis or even on your commute.

Please note: breath retention is not advisable during pregnancy.
