STARTING TONIGHT
Are you fed-up, feeling lethargic, looking for help to get you motivated again after Covid? The rugby club are running fitness sessions on a Wednesday evening from 7pm – 8pm in the school gym. Following the gym session we will be playing walking sports in the sports hall from 8pm – 9pm, hockey, football, rugby, rounders, etc., …….just to get us all back into exercise. The session is £2.00 for the 2 hours, anyone 16 years or over is welcome both male and female, no upper age limit……
Different standards welcome from beginners to expert, you will not be left behind. We will run the sessions for 10 weeks and see how things go……

Help Harlech have a small amount of funding that may be available for local groups or individuals who are providing or requiring support as they recover from the pandemic. We may also be able to help groups to setup activities that will help members of the community through the recovery process, i.e. well being courses, meetings, activities, etc.
If you would be interested in accessing this funding then please direct message me and we can discuss your individual or group needs. I am not the final decision maker but can put it to the Community Foundation Wales who will be able to agree the support or not. All discussion will be confidential and only discussed with CFW without personal details.

Gwynedd Council have opened a grant scheme to support local groups who distribute food in their communities.

Help Harlech are aware that those vulnerable people advised to stay indoors at the start of the pandemic have been receiving letters informing them yo take the same precautions now, during this present situation. If you are one of these people or know someone that is, then Help Harlech are available to help in a number of ways, shopping, prescription pickup, chats, and other ways when possible. Should anyone know a person, couple, family who are young, middle aged or older who might need support at this difficult time as we approach the festive season then Help Harlech through HTA May be able to assist with signing posting to other support and emergency financial assistance.

Should the First Minister put Wales in to a full lock down similar to that at the start of the pandemic then Help Harlech will be available to assist those people who are going back into complete self isolation. We will be looking to provide a prescription pick up service and to provide help with local shopping.

We will also provide a 'call checkers service starting with those individuals who we called during the initial lock down. If you do not wish to be called then just let us know either on here or when we call you the first time.

We will be stopping our voluntary support from the 16th August, having completed over 300 different tasks during the past 5 months from shopping, DIY, prescriptions, hospital journeys and assistance in other areas. Our volunteers made over 100 telephone calls checking on local high risk peoples welfare as a part of our service and for a chat.

Thanks to all those people that volunteered and helped us to deliver this assistance, you are ALL local heroes and deserved to be applauded 🎖🎖🏅

As Help Harlech move forward and some of our volunteers are returning to work/opening businesses the way in which we operate may change slightly. Initially we are looking for people who volunteered early in the lockdown to confirm if they are still available for the collection and delivery of both prescriptions and shopping. Once a revamped list of volunteers has been created we will ensure that the service we delivered for the past 3 months continues without interruption.
