"To this day, third-hand smoking (THS) has not been quantified or categorized and there is lack of data to explain the possible relationships between THS and lung cancer using disease progression models. In the field of public health, definitive trials are needed to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of various levels of prevention and health promotion to reduce the risk associated with THS, which has thus far received less attention. It is time to raise awareness about the potential negative effects of THS exposure and advocate for smoke-free homes for the sake of future generations."
