The importance of the conversation.
You may have watched the poignant conclusion to Call The Midwife which used as part of its final story, the death of the beloved character Sister Monica Joan, the elderly Nun who was facing the end of her life.
The brilliant and sensitive way that her closing chapter was depicted showed her requesting to speak with her Funeral Director, ensuring her life was remembered in a way she felt would be important.
She touched on the rituals and rights befitting her life as a Nun, but she also made requests that paid respects to her life and work.
We have often been called to speak with someone who is facing this same closing chapter, wanting peace of mind knowing that their wishes were going to be understood and put in place when that day comes.
We are always honoured to be asked to bear witness to these wishes and are privileged to carry out those wishes with care, respect and compassion,
Thank you to the BBC for helping to create a conversation and showing the importance of a Funeral.
Have the conversation, let your voice and wishes be heard, it will be the greatest gift for those who care for you and will allow them to celebrate your life as you would wish.

We’re delighted to share that we are now an official drop-off point for donations to the Animal Rescue Charity, a registered local charity.

The charity is a sanctuary supporting neglected, unwanted, and abandoned animals, with a strong focus on cats and dogs. They also rescue wildlife and make sure animals are passed on to the appropriate specialist wildlife charities.

Many of the pets they support come to them when an owner has passed away, which feels especially meaningful to us.

As a team of animal lovers ourselves — especially when it comes to cats and dogs — this felt like a natural way to support a cause we know is close to the hearts of so many in our local community.

Our drop-off point in the foyer is open for donations of:

• Cat & dog food
• Blankets & towels
• Pet bedding
• Cat & dog toys
• Other useful pet supplies

If you’re passing by, you’re very welcome to pop in — whether to donate or simply say hello 🤍

On Sunday, we attended the Christmas Memororial at GreenAcres Living Memorial Park Epping.

A truly warm and uplifting service, led by the lovely celebrant, Vicki Corderoy, and beautifully enhanced by the voice of Nancy May. Nancy's carol singing added a gentle and heartfelt touch.

As funeral directors, we see the the importance of special moments that bring us comfort and connection.

Our sincere thanks to GreenAcres Epping for hosting such a meaningful Christmas memorial for our community.

A Truly Traditional Farewell!

On Monday, we were honoured to arrange a beautiful horse-drawn funeral. The elegance and dignity of the horses, Mac & Donald, leading the cortege, created a fitting tribute and a very special farewell for a much-loved life.
