The UK pharmacy sector continues to navigate a period of significant challenge and change.

The latest NHSBSA data shows 1.26 billion prescription items were dispensed in 2024/25, a 4% increase on the previous year.

Despite growing demand, the sector faces a funding shortfall exceeding £2.3 billion, according to The Pharmaceutical Journal.
