Mrs H presented with sudden hearing loss in the right ear since last Friday and was booked for an ear microsuction appointment.
During examination, the right ear canal was found to be completely blocked with cerumen, while the left ear canal was partially obstructed.
Microsuction was performed successfully to remove the impacted cerumen. The patient’s hearing returned to normal immediately after the procedure.

This week, Mr A, a 25-year-old gentleman, visited the clinic with reduced hearing in his left ear for the past couple of weeks. He described a blocked sensation and difficulty hearing conversations, which was starting to affect his daily life. On examination, I found that his left ear canal was completely obstructed with impacted earwax. After performing microsuction, the blockage was safely removed. Almost immediately, Mr A noticed a clear improvement and was delighted that his hearing had returned to normal. He left the clinic relieved and much more comfortable.

Presented with bilateral tinnitus described as hissing, and hearing loss for approximately one year. Otoscopic examination demonstrated complete bilateral blockage with hard ear wax. I advised him to use ear oil for three weeks to soften it prior to removal. After successful wax removal, immediately he said “I can hear everything is so loud now”.A couple of minutes later, he also noticed that the hiss was gone.

Professional Ear Wax Removal with Microsuction
How does microsuction work?
-It’s the safest procedure for the removal of ear wax from the ear canal as recommended by the guidelines set by national institute of clinical excellence.
-It involves extraction of wax by introducing a small amount of suction into the ear.
-Especially beneficial for impacted wax against the ear commonly caused by using er buds or poor ear irrigation techniques where was has been pushed against the ear drum.
Can microsuction damage the ears?
The process is generally painless but can be noisy at times and at times a little uncomfortable. If you can feel discomfort or pain during the appointment make to let the doctor know.
Depending on the amount of wax in your ears, things may sound a little different, a small amount of ringing or buzzing in your ears but this should settle in a couple days.

Happy 2023 to all of you! ❤️❤️❤️ “I am pregnant “🥳 Just came back from Christmas holiday in Caribbean and on the way home, the calls were one after another from my patients!December 2022 was amazing! Three new babies were born, five pregnants, two have had 9 weeks scans which showed normal, three is still waiting for 6-7weeks scans.Hope everything will be great.💪
