Whilst people of all genders experience challenges to their mental health, men can often face particular challenges due to societal expectations and perceived norms around masculinity.

Changes in physical and cognitive wellbeing as men get older and the experiences of retirement, bereavement or acting in a caring role for a spouse can have a huge impact on male mental health.

As one of our carers said recently, “The problem with 15-minute care calls is that as a carer you only have enough time to do what’s absolutely necessary and there isn’t time for any social interaction with the client. Often you feel like you’ve just arrived, and then you’re off again.”
