At YCT, we work with children and young people who are often carrying complex emotional experiences and who may already feel excluded, misunderstood, or unable to access support. Art therapy is a creative, evidence-based approach that helps remove barriers to mental health care for those who struggle with traditional, verbally led services.
By offering alternative ways to express and explore difficult experiences, art therapy supports children and young people, neurodivergent individuals, and those living with trauma to feel seen, heard, and supported. It reflects a deeply human understanding that sits at the heart of our work at YCT: some experiences need space, time, and creativity—beyond words alone.

https://yctsupport.com/leave-a-legacy
Every day, children and young people reach out to YCT Support feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or alone. For many, our counselling services are the first time they feel truly heard and understood.

By choosing to leave a gift in your Will, you can help create a future where:

A child receives support before their struggles escalate

A young person gains the confidence to face life again

Mental health support remains free and accessible for those who need it most

Legacy gifts help us plan ahead, grow our services, and be there for the next generation of young people — whatever challenges they face.

Leaving a legacy is more than a donation.
It’s a message of hope that lasts a lifetime.

As we move into 2026, at Yct Support we’re reflecting on the hopes that young people and families carry every day.

Hope to be listened to without judgement.
Hope to feel safe, understood, and supported.
Hope for early help, before things feel overwhelming.
Hope for the confidence to talk, the strength to cope, and the reassurance that they’re not alone.

Even when life feels tough, hope still shines through —
in honest conversations,
in asking for support,
and in every young person taking a step forward at their own pace.

YCT Support is a place where hope can shine.
A place for safe, confidential support,
for building emotional wellbeing,
and for helping young people find their voice and believe in themselves.

What are your hopes for 2026 — for yourself, for a young person you care about, or for mental health support in our communities?

Share this and invite others to add theirs too in the comments below. .

Because when hope is shared, it creates connection — and that can make all the difference.

At YCT Support, we believe children and young people deserve to feel heard, safe and supported. We provide free, early-intervention counselling and therapeutic support for young people aged 5–25 and their families, helping them navigate life’s challenges before they reach crisis point. With no diagnosis required and a compassionate, non-judgemental approach, we’re here to change lives and build brighter futures.

As we reach the end of another year, all of us at YCT want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible children, young people, families, schools, and professionals we’ve had the privilege to support.
Thank you for trusting us to walk alongside you—through challenges, growth, and everything in between. Your resilience and strength inspire our work every single day.
Wishing everyone a warm, peaceful, and joyful Christmas, and a hopeful start to the New Year.
We look forward to continuing our mission of providing compassionate therapeutic and counselling support in 2026.
Stay safe, be kind to yourselves, and enjoy the festive season.
From all of us at YCT — Merry Christmas!

Have you been supported by YCT over the past 38 years? We’d love to hear your story, anonymously if preferred. The most powerful things we have are the stories of the impact YCT has had on your life and those around you.
YCT has been here for Harlow and the surrounding areas for over three decades, supporting local children and young people through life’s challenges. As we reflect on the impact of that work, we’re inviting anyone who has used YCT at any point in the last 38 years to share how the charity has helped you directly. Yes, that includes YOU if you were a child in 1988 and were supported by YCT when we began and now enjoying being in your 50s and anyone we have supported up to today.
Your story could help others understand the difference support can make — and help us celebrate the strength of our community.
Email your story to: [storiesofchange@yctsupport.com](mailto:storiesofchange@yctsupport.com)
Prefer to talk it through first?
Please contact our office and speak to a member of the team — we’ll be happy to help you share your experience in whatever way feels comfortable.
Thank you for being part of the YCT journey.

We are looking for new members to join our active board to help oversee the delivery of our service. We provide counselling and therapeutic support to children, young people and the families alongside the professionals around them.

What are we looking for?
We are looking for up to three new trustees who have experience in fundraising, marketing, finance, IT or communications. If you are new to volunteering for boards we have an experienced group of trustees who you would be able to learn from so no board experience is necessary.

What difference will you make?
This is a vital role, helping ensure we can continue our support for the children, young people and families we work with. As a trustee, you will have a real opportunity to offer your unique skill set to help the strategic progression of the charity.

If you are interested in talking to us more about this opportunity please send a CV and covering email to: clerktotheboard@yctsupport.com to get the conversation started.

Decorate Your Desk: YCT House Edition!

Huge THANK YOU to the incredible team at YCT House for diving head-first (and desk-first!) into our Decorate Your Desk Christmas challenge.

From giant snowmen and subtle understatement to desks that could rival Santa’s grotto, your enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment truly captured the spirit of YCT. More importantly, it reflected what we see every day — a team full of positivity, care, and heart.

That same energy you brought to glitter, lights, questionable amounts of snowballs and yes that's an oven complete with Christmas turkey and sprouts you can see, is the energy that supports children and young people all year round — and it’s exactly what will carry YCT confidently into 2026.

Thank you for being brilliant, festive, and unapologetically yourselves. YCT is stronger because of you — decorations down, impact still shining in to 2026
