βœ… Letting the results speak for themselves

βœ… Physiotherapy only starts in the treatment room

βœ… Physiotherapy should also be something you β€˜DO’ not just something you β€˜HAVE’

βœ… Correct treatment, appropriately tailored and progressive rehab programmes = happy patients and therapist 😁

Persisting low back pain?? Back pain that resolves and appears to flare up again when you try to return to normal daily life, or when returning to sport/exercise/weight training?? Despite having had numerous treatments with a healthcare professional??

Do you have a pelvic shift/tilt??

A lateral pelvic shift or tilt is one of the most common postural dysfunctions that I see in clinic with patients presenting with low back pain.

Two of the most common reasons include a functional changes due to muscle tightness, and a leg length discrepancy.

Don’t rely on hands on treatment to solve your problem. This is merely treating the symptoms not the cause.

In this example, assessing for weaknesses in your LATERAL SLING is fundamental in permanently resolving this issue. Your LATERAL SLING System helps you to regain lateral control (sideways movement) of your body

Example exercises include:
1. Asymmetrically loaded Bulgarian split squats
2. Single arm deadlifts
3. Side plank variations
4. Half kneeling single and dual arm shoulder pressing

Physiotherapy is something you DO not something you HAVE

now at 8 weeks post-op smashing his rehab this week.

Today we unlocked his brace to 90 degrees flexion which he is comfortably achieving. Now able to start on the recumbent and upright bike, great for knee range of movement, joint lubrication and getting some co-contraction between hamstrings and quads.

His functional exercises are progressing well and now introducing single leg press to get the quads/gluts firing again after several weeks of inactivity. This type of machine provides a comfortable and ultimately safe way to begin resistance training where fatigue will set in very quickly. As I’m sure can confirm the next day 🀣πŸ’ͺ

here, now 7 weeks after surgery to repair his complete patella tendon rupture. We started 3 weeks ago when he had 20 degrees bend and unable to lift his leg when straight. He is now well ahead of schedule shown here achieving excellent knee flexion with quad activation throughout this range. With his knee brace on, Harry is now starting closed chain body weight exercises. From this week we will continue load his quads whilst working to restore full range of movement.

A huge thank you to and all the staff at for allowing me to host my Physio clinic at the hotel during the last lockdown. A fantastic example of one local business helping to support another local business in these difficult times. I cannot thank you enough πŸ™πŸ‘.

To confirm, Heys Physiotherapy will remain open as usual, following the government announcement on 31st October that medical and health services may continue to operate. The clinic, based Harlow, will continue to offer Physiotherapy and Sports massage appointments. We will update this information if new guidance is released. Existing COVID-19 protocols remain in place.

20/07/2020

Due to the clinics location within a gym, it has meant our Physio clinic has been unable to open during the Covid lockdown. But as we all know, as of this Saturday 25th July, Heys Physiotherapy at Ripped Gym Harlow will back open! Thanks to the excellent work/planning being done at Ripped Gym, all social distancing and Covid guidelines have been put in place. Hand sanitiser is readily available on entry and throughout the gym, and all members/visitors will be temperature checked. Heys Physiotherapy will be adhering to all of our Chartered Physiotherapy PPE and Covid screening guidelines to ensure the safety and peace of mind for all our patients. Tailored rehab/exercise/prevention/and ultimately self management has always been the fundamental part of my treatment. Traditional β€˜hands-on’ manual therapy if indicated is purely a means to achieve this, no matter who you are.

This review comes courtesy of my wife and accurately sums up this approach 🀣
