You can always come back to us when they don’t treat you well.
That should be the kind of statement that stays with you whenever you leave a place you’ve worked before.
A few months ago, I visited my former place of work not as a stranger, but as family. I supported them, worked alongside them again, and we shared a lovely lunch together. No bitterness. No broken bridges. Just mutual respect and goodwill.
It reminded me of something important,
How you leave matters just as much as how you arrive.
When you leave with integrity, humility, and excellence, doors don’t slam shut, they stay open. Relationships outlive job titles, and character travels further than a CV.
Work hard. Be kind. Leave well.
You never know when a place you once served may welcome you back with open arms.

Being different is your superpower don’t be afraid to stand in it.
There was a time I led a team of incredible physiotherapists and occupational therapists, and I happened to be the only Black person in the team. And you know what? It was a beautiful experience. Different backgrounds, different perspectives, one shared purpose. We learned from one another, grew together, and created something truly special.
Being different didn’t isolate me but it strengthened the team. It brought balance, depth, and richness to our work. It reminded me that diversity isn’t a weakness, it’s a gift.
So if you’ve ever felt like you don’t quite “fit the mould,” this is your reminder, you weren’t meant to. Your uniqueness is your power. Your voice matters. Your presence adds value.
Don’t shrink yourself to blend in.
Don’t dim your light to make others comfortable.
Be different. Be bold. Be you.
And to those amazing colleagues I once worked with, i miss you dearly and carry those memories with me always.
