During each mat yoga class we'll practice bridge post. This post im sharing articulates really well the physiological reasons for the calmness we experience when we come out of bridge, a calming rather than stimulating back bend. In addition to what is on the post, spiritually bridge leads us from one place to another, it supports, it leads you to where you need to be ✨️

Feet πŸ‘£ are never neglected during my classes! We have awareness of our feet to feel steady and grounded, some postures such as crocodile pose 🐊 work with meridians in the body and at various points we'll stretch and strengthen our feet!. Ive mentioned using a tennis ball under foot to two different people lately and my phone was clearly listening as this useful info graphic popped up:

Your feet are the foundation of your posture 🦢
Rolling a tennis ball under the foot activates the plantar fascia and the entire posterior chainβ€”helping release tight hamstrings, glutes, and lower-back muscles.

A simple daily habit that improves mobility, flexibility, and spinal comfort from the ground up.

✨ Move better. Stand stronger. Heal smarter.

You got this. Celebrate all the small wins. Be kind to yourself. Notice those moments and glimmers that add meaning and the times when you feel most like you. Keep going and let these positive feelings become more of a way of life πŸ™ πŸ’«

Mid-week reminder to give yourself permission to slow down! Life is busy, but its honestly okay to take a moment, to breathe and just be, to let your own wellbeing take priority. These moments of calm reflection are important. You notice small details, connect to your self and to others more deeply. Its therefore crucial, especially if youre taking care of others in life, in work, that you find these moments of peaceful stillness to continue being the best version of you. At Yoga you can just 'be' without pressure, without competition, there is no race to be won. The hustle becomes less of a badge of honour, or proof of success but something you enjoy stepping out of, as peace is the real prize. Enjoy getting back to you ❀️

Do take time to slow down* and smell the roses (or spot the orbs)! In these moments of stillness, life continues to unfold, and we are a silent observer of life's miracles, with a greater awareness and far more clarity. Realising our soul purpose becomes possible (usually connected to healing in some way, or helping others). Take up Yoga, get out into nature, practice mindfulness - and thank me later!

*I wasn't actually slowing down here, I was running, on one of the more scenic Parkruns at Maldon.
