Hi everyone,

This is the 2nd post in a series of posts promoting awareness of Men's Mental Health.

To begin to explain identity, I've tried to avoid 'psycho-babble' as much as possible so that my messages get across. I'm also only scratching the surface, but hopefully some of what I say resonates with others.

This post holds back from going into our early years (which is the next post).

What I'd like to communicate is:
- Our identity & sense of who we are develops over time
- It is constructed as we experience others
- Our sense of being a man can get "out of sync" with our core
- There isn't one definition of being a man

Please let me know any feedback you may have & please share.

Next up: the early years & the development of our identity

Take care,
Stephen

I’m not in a position to dictate one option over another to help with emotional or psychological support. It’s a personal choice.

But, why not grab yourself a coffee (or mint tea 😉) and take 15 minutes to read this fascinating article which explores mental health, medication and the healing effect of therapy.

In 1986, people being treated for depression were twice as likely to be in therapy as to be taking pills. Now, for every person in therapy, there are four... 57 comments on LinkedIn
