Retirement announcement of our Receptionist Carolyn Cooper

After 22 incredible years with us, we’re celebrating the retirement of our wonderful receptionist, a true Harpenden local and a beloved member of our team.

Throughout her time here, Carolyn has been a classy, warm presence admired by all. She’s been a friend to staff and patients alike, and her kindness and dedication will be deeply missed.

After more than 20 years of dedicated service, we will be bidding a heartfelt farewell to Heather, who is retiring at the end of April.

Heather has been an integral part of our nursing team, serving as Lead Practice Nurse and playing a vital role in delivering high quality patient care. With a special interest in diabetes management, Heather has made a lasting difference in the lives of so many patients, offering expert advice, support, and always delivering it with warmth and compassion.

Beyond her role in the practice, Heather has also contributed to the wider community through her involvement with the Primary Care Network (PCN) as part of the PCN Training Team, and in our Covid vaccination centre for the population of Harpenden. Her collaborative spirit and commitment have helped shape the care we provide across the network.

Heather’s kindness, professionalism, and dedication have left a deep impression on both patients and colleagues. She will be greatly missed, and we are incredibly grateful for all she has given over the years.

While we’re sad to see her go, we wish her all the very best in this exciting new chapter of her life.

Meet Adarsh Mehta - Our Brilliant Practice Manager!

Adarsh Mehta is an integral part of Davenport House Surgery, managing all aspects of the practice to ensure everything runs smoothly. From motivating and supporting our team to improving efficiency and keeping us on track with our long term goals, Adarsh works tirelessly behind the scenes to provide the best service for our patients.

With over a decade of experience in primary care and a degree in International Business, Adarsh has led significant improvements at Davenport House, both for our patients and staff. His leadership promotes teamwork, learning, and development, and he ensures we continue to meet CQC standards.

When he’s not hard at work, Adarsh enjoys playing 7 a side football, badminton, and chess - hobbies that reflect his strategic thinking and dedication to teamwork.

We’re incredibly fortunate to have Adarsh at the helm, and we thank him for all his hard work in helping make Davenport House one of the top surgeries in the country.

If you’re a patient of ours and a parent or carer of a neurodiverse child, we’re excited to share a new initiative! Harpenden Health PCN has partnered with The Harpenden Trust to run monthly drop in sessions for parents and carers in similar situations.

These sessions are held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at The Harpenden Trust Halls, from 130pm to 300pm.

It’s a great opportunity to connect with others, share experiences, and find support. Feel free to come along!

You might have seen this initiative featured in the October issue of the Harpenden Forum, delivered to residents across the town.

If you or someone you know needs help accessing the NHS App, the NHS website, or using personal devices, Computer Friendly is here to help. Free drop-in sessions are running at these locations:

Tuesdays: Wheathampstead Library, 19 Marford Road, AL4 8AY – 230pm to 430pm.

Wednesdays: Salvation Army, Leyton Green, AL5 2TG – 10am to 1230pm

Thursdays: The Harpenden Trust, 90 Southdown Road, AL5 1PS - 10am to 1230pm

These sessions are perfect for:
• Accessing the NHS App
• Navigating the NHS Website
• Getting help with personal devices
