Supporting International Women’s Day.

Today is about recognising the strength, resilience and contribution of women in every part of society - including healthcare.

We’re proud to support women’s health at every stage of life, whether that’s helping with posture at work, recovery after injury, pregnancy-related changes or simply keeping busy lives moving comfortably.

Here’s to strong bodies, informed choices and feeling properly supported.

We see backs, yes.

But we also see runners with knee pain, desk workers with headaches, new mums with hip discomfort, teenagers with posture strain, and gym-goers with shoulder injuries.

Osteopathy isn’t about one body part — it’s about how everything works together.

Pain has a starting point. It doesn’t have to become a pattern.

Osteopath or chiropractor — what’s the difference?
It’s one of the questions we’re asked most.

Both are regulated healthcare professionals in the UK. Both treat back, neck and joint pain. And both use hands-on techniques. The difference is usually in approach.

Osteopaths look at the body as a whole — how joints, muscles, posture and lifestyle all connect. Treatment may include joint mobilisation, soft tissue work, movement advice and sometimes gentle manipulation.

Chiropractors often focus more specifically on the spine and nervous system, with spinal adjustments being a key part of treatment.

Neither is “better”. It’s about what suits you, your body, and your preference. If you’re unsure which is right for you, we’re always happy to talk it through.

Did you know that some LGBTQ+ people still feel anxious accessing healthcare? *

For much of history, LGBTQ+ identities were misunderstood, stigmatised, or even treated as medical “conditions.” Some people also carry memories — personal or shared — of being dismissed, judged, or not taken seriously in clinical settings.

Even today, those experiences can affect how comfortable someone feels asking for help. And that matters — because good healthcare starts with trust.

This LGBTQ+ History Month, we’re proud to stand for respectful, inclusive care — where every patient feels heard, understood and supported. 🌈

*In the UK 27 % of LGBTQ+ people said they were worried, anxious or embarrassed about seeking health services, according to the National LGBT Survey (Government Equalities Office) — showing emotional barriers to accessing care.

• Additionally, one in seven LGBT+ people have avoided treatment for fear of discrimination in British healthcare settings.

Most people ignore the first hint of discomfort in their back - or neck or wrist or somewhere else... until it starts affecting sleep, work, or even bending down to tie their shoes.

That tiny twinge could turn into a stubborn pain that takes weeks to resolve — but it doesn’t have to.

Booking early means we can address the issue before it grows, keep you moving comfortably, and prevent it from interfering with your daily life.

Don’t wait until it’s too late — we can stop things in their tracks.

Pain isn’t always where you feel it.

Shoulder pain can start in the neck.
Back pain may be linked to the hips.
Headaches can come from the upper spine.

Osteopathy looks at how the whole body works together to find the real cause — not just the sore spot.

Poor posture doesn’t usually cause problems overnight — it settles in quietly, day by day, shoulder by shoulder, screen by screen.

And over time, the body begins to adapt in ways it was never designed to.

We often see it linked to:

• Neck and shoulder tension
• Headaches and jaw discomfort
• Upper and lower back pain
• Rounded shoulders and reduced mobility
• Hip imbalance and pelvic strain
• Fatigue from inefficient muscle use
• Breathing restrictions
• Digestive discomfort
• Nerve irritation, tingling or weakness
• And a general feeling of stiffness that never quite disappears.

The body is wonderfully good at compensating — but compensation always comes at a cost somewhere else.

The good news? Posture can be improved. Not with rigid “sit up straight” rules, but with awareness, gentle correction, movement, and the right support.

If something’s been niggling, or you’re noticing patterns you didn’t before, we’re always happy to help you understand what your body is trying to tell you — and how to support it properly.

Send us a message, or book online when you’re ready.
