This whole holiday has felt like one long initiation into who I actually am.
Not easy. Not soft. Not the “rest and reset” I thought I was signing up for.
But honest. And necessary. ✨
The mountains trip was the final push.
It was meant to be a calm jeep tour through villages and waterfalls.
Instead it turned into water fights with plastic guns, shouting, and music blasting inside the bus — the kind of chaos that makes your whole body tense. 🔊
So I spoke up.
And the tour guide turns around and says, “Don’t cause drama.”
Something in me snapped into place.
Not messy. Not out of control.
Just a woman who finally refused to shrink.
I looked him straight in the eye and said,
“Don’t you dare speak to me — a woman — like that.”
Because I had every right to say something about a situation I didn’t sign up for.
And I’m done being told by men, that my voice is “drama.” 🔥
The bus carried on up towards the mountains.
I headed down, walking through the village, trying to figure out how to get back to the coast. 🚶♀️
On the way down, I saw a woman — Ecz. Aysun — and asked if she knew where I could get a taxi.
Instead, she offered me Turkish tea. ☕
We sat, we talked aromatherapy, plants, rituals, life…
Her friend even drove me back to the coast.
Kindness. Connection. Safety.
Exactly when I needed it. 🤍
Here’s what this whole holiday taught me:
🌿 My peace is non‑negotiable
My body knows before my mind does.
🔥 My voice is allowed to take up space
And if someone feels threatened by that, it’s not my problem.
🚶♀️ Leaving isn’t dramatic — it’s self-respect
I don’t have to stay anywhere that feels wrong.
🤝 The right people appear when I’m in the right places
Like Aysun, who offered tea, directions, and genuine care.
🌙 Growth is uncomfortable, but it’s honest
This holiday cracked me open in ways I didn’t expect… and I’m grateful for every part of it.
Sometimes the universe doesn’t give you the trip you wanted.
It gives you the one that shows you who you are. ✨
