Have you ever wondered how our brains actually remember things? 🧠✨

Let me introduce you to Long-Term Potentiation (LTP)—the brain’s way of saying, “this info is important!”

LTP is basically the strengthening of connections between neurons when they’re used repeatedly. Imagine your brain as a giant network of roads. The more you travel a certain path (like when you’re learning a new skill or revising for an exam), the smoother and faster that road becomes. Over time, those well-travelled paths become like motorways, making it easier to remember information.

It’s like your brain’s version of muscle memory! 💪 Except instead of lifting weights, you’re flexing your neurons.

This little process is at the heart of how we form memories, learn new skills, and even adapt to new situations. So the next time you finally remember where you left your keys—or smash that test—you can thank good ol’ LTP. 🥰

Did you know that is linked to differences in brain structure? Studies show that people with ADHD often have a smaller amygdala, the part of the brain that helps regulate emotions and stress. This can make managing emotions and difficulties more challenging!

Whilst we cannot ‘cure’ ADHD, hypnotherapy is a tool that has been shown to help! By promoting relaxation and focus, it can support emotional regulation and reduce stress, giving the brain the space it needs to thrive!
