🎯 Bullseye at Eaton Court Nursing Home! 🎯

When carers, Stacy and Molly, found out Tony was a keen darts player, they invited him to play in their dart league - and what a barrel of laughs they had!

There were no basil brushes in this league, just pure big fishes and one hundred and eighties 🏆(yes we Googled dart terms, don't come for us)

Thank you to Stacy and Molly for inviting Tony to this fun-filled afternoon - he absolutely loved it 🥹 ❤️

Residents at our Yorkshire care home celebrated Yorkshire Day by being featured in Yorkshire Post, talking all things Yorkshire - have we said Yorkshire enough? 😜

Barbara and Pat at Nesfield Lodge Dementia Care Home were born and raised in Leeds, and enjoyed reminiscing about their favourite memories of living in the best county ever (we're possibly biased), including family holidays to Whitby, visiting the York Minster and gorgeous days in Filey 🌊

THE LIONESSES HAVE DONE IT AGAIN! 🦁 ⚽ 🎉

Those penalties were absolutely nerve-wracking to say the least, but we had no doubt the Lionesses would bring it home! Well done team England 👏 👏 👏

And just like that, the Cruise around the World competition draws to a close... 😯 🛳️ 👳‍♂️

Before the judges spend some time reaching their decision, we're sharing some highlights from our final stop this week in the one and only India! With options on the menu such as onion bhajis, butter chicken curry and rice kheer (Indian rice pudding), the food was absolutely delicious 🍛

That's not all though, as teams enjoyed visits from Bollywood dancers and various entertainment groups, as well as getting crafty with their handmade decorations!

Well done to all teams on their amazing efforts over the last 5 weeks, keep your eyes peeled for the winners! 👀

"She's still living her best life at 90 - I love it!" - Angela, Joan's granddaughter 🥹

After deciding she didn't want to be away from her husband, Joan joined Penwortham Grange and Lodge Care Home whilst John required additional care, shortly before his passing. Now, at 90 years old, Joan is sharing her care home life experience and how she's enjoying making new meaningful connections at our Preston care home❤️

Congratulations to the team at Eaton Court Nursing Home for their Certificate of Appreciation, rewarded to them this month by the University of Hull! 🏆 👏 😀

Alison Mackintosh, Lead Lecturer from the university, popped by Eaton's team meeting to personally hand over the certificate, which was a very special moment for the team! The certificate recognises the valued guidance and support offered to the University of Hull’s Student Nurses 🧑‍⚕️

"The smaller, more intimate setting fostered a feeling of being truly embraced, allowing students to maximize learning opportunities and feel exceptionally well-supported by the staff."

If you ask anyone in Britain what summer sounds like, we're sure an ice cream van tune would come to mind. At Thornton Hall and Lodge Care Home, that sound gets the residents and team members on their feet gathering their pound coins... especially for a Whippy and a 99 from Paul's Ice Cream!

From brilliant Brazil to amazing Argentina, the homes this week have appreciated everything that South America has to offer 🧑‍🍳 🌞 🎨

On the menu this week were delicious empanadas, Argentinian beef with chimichurri & Bolo de cenoura (tasty Brazilian carrot cake), amongst plenty of other options! If that isn't fine dining, we don't know what is 🍰

While some homes enjoyed visits from exotic animals and exciting steel drum entertainment, others let their creative passions flow and flourish with handmade traditional masks!

We'd like to say a huge congratulations to Charlotte, Domestic Housekeeper at Eckington Court Nursing Home, on her online feature for the Connected Futures x Youth Voice role model campaign!

Connected Futures, which is part of the Direct Education Business Partnership, created the Youth Voice campaign to highlight challenges faced by people with learning disabilities or Autism spectrum conditions finding employment. Charlotte, who joined Eckington Court through work experience in 2024, was more than happy to share her experiences with the Direct Education Business Partnership team and discuss her journey from work experience to full-time employment with our Derbyshire care home 🤩 👏
