⭐️ We are thrilled to announce that Requeline O'Connor has been voted Carer of the Year 2024! 🎉

This award is a true reflection of how much Requeline is valued- not just by management and her colleagues, but also by the people we support and their families. After a vote across staff and clients, Requeline received the highest number of nominations, and it's easy to see why.

Requeline consistently delivers outstanding care, especially with clients living with dementia and those with complex needs. Whether it's accompanying someone to the cinema, supporting trips to Manchester, or helping a client enjoy a much-needed holiday, Requeline goes above and beyond to make sure each person feels safe, supported, and respected.

She has also been a huge asset to the care coordination team, regularly stepping in to cover shifts at short notice, helping during periods of sickness, and working across multiple services without hesitation. Her flexibility, reliability, and willingness to help wherever needed show true dedication to the role and the people we care for.

Requeline brings compassion, patience, and professionalism to every shift, and this award is incredibly well deserved. Thank you, Requeline, for everything you do - your hard work doesn't go unnoticed! ✨

A reminder that our first Bingo afternoon will take place on Tuesday, 29th of July, with free tea/coffee/cake and small prizes for the winners. 🏆

Our new free Bingo afternoon will run every two weeks at the Continued Care office in Harrogate from 2pm – 4pm.

🥰 We just love this photo from a recent trip taken by two of our carers and a client. Carers Sue and Matt travelled with our client for a week-long holiday to Portsmouth, where he had such a fantastic time that he nominated them for Carers of the Month!

🙏 Help us reach £40,000 for charity!

We have always been committed to supporting charities and voluntary organisations working in health, social and community care, and in the last ten years have raised nearly £40,000 for a range of charities.

Looking back at our fundraising journey since 2015 alone shows how many different local and national organisations we have helped, including Leeds Hospitals Charity, Alzheimer's Society, Martin House Children's Hospice, Harrogate Homeless Project, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and Saint Michael's Hospice.

Our final total to date is a fantastic £39,696.79, and this year has seen our staff members continuing our fundraising efforts to support our Charity of the Year Alzheimer's Society and other organisations Help For Heroes, Macmillan Cancer Support, and Great Ormond Street Hospital and Charity.

With just a few hundred pounds short of £40,000, we are appealing for everyone to help us hit this milestone. 🙏

Our Social Day Clubs are a great way to meet new people within a safe and friendly environment. Activities include arts and crafts, gardening, baking, quizzes and gentle exercises. 🧩

📍 The clubs are held at our Harrogate office on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10am to 3pm and open to all adults.

Transport can be arranged free of charge, and funding towards regular attendance may be available.

🙌 We had a lovely time at the Continued Care office yesterday!
One of our staff members brought her mother, who was visiting from India, to meet us, and Samantha baked some delicious cupcakes that everyone enjoyed.🧁 We don’t think there were any treats left!
We always enjoy our coffee catch-ups with our staff members.

😀Here are more pictures of the Continued Care team at the Macmillan Cancer Support Yorkshire Dales Mighty Hike! The team raised an incredible £1450, with Samantha’s son Olly walking the fastest out of the 1500 people who attended. The route was very pretty, and the event was inspiring and extremely well organised, with a half-marathon route also available.

“The day was amazing from start to finish, with other people walking and chatting along the way. The volunteers were fab and we all had a good but exhausting day, plus a few blisters! They served food at the end, and I’ve never enjoyed fish and chips so much!”

👏 A massive well done to Director Samantha Harrison, Assistant Director Mike Herrington and Care Services Manager and Wellbeing Facilitator Mónica Tavares, and their family and friends, who walked the Yorkshire Dales full marathon this weekend in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support! A wonderful achievement, particularly in the warmer weather! 🌞

We offer a wide range of services, including personal care, cleaning, shopping and companionship calls. 🛍️☕️

The smallest visit is 30 minutes and can be a good way for your parent or loved one to get to know us and feel comfortable with home visits. It also gives family carers a brief break.
