Continued Care Limited

Continued Care Limited Rated CQC Outstanding, family-run Continued Care offers home care services across Harrogate and Ripon

At the heart of everything we do is a focus on providing high-quality, respectful care to all the people we work with. We offer independence, dignity, respect, peace of mind, and rights to choice. We provide tailored home care in the Harrogate, Knaresborough, Ripon and Settle areas to people who have experienced a sudden illness, returned from hospital or are simply in need of extra support. Our services range from help with cleaning, shopping and personal assistance, right through to 24-hour care. We help people with complex health needs to move back to their own homes following a stay in a nursing home or hospital. We are highly experienced in managing the moving process and can provide up to 24-hour support to bring people home. We work closely with people and their families to create a care plan that meets their individual needs and respects their requirements. We provide services on behalf of the NHS, as well as to private clients. We have also been the sole provider for the last five years of home care in Harrogate, Knaresborough and the surrounding district on behalf of North Yorkshire County Council. The wellbeing of our staff is also a big focus for us, and we provide regular training, supervision and appraisals, as well as clear career development paths. Our work meets and exceeds the standards set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and we are rated as Outstanding; please download a full copy of our latest independent inspection report at www.cqc.org.uk. We are seen as leaders in our field and have won numerous awards for our work in the care sector as well as for our approach to staff development and training.

🤩 We’ve been sent some lovely photos of encaustic art made by one of our service users, Jim. The first piece is called ‘One more hill to climb’. Phil, Jim's carer, had shown an interest in Jim’s art, so Jim’s wife, Toni, bought some materials for them to work with today. Phil made the red flower picture for Toni as a thank you! 🌺

❄️ As the colder weather sets in, we’ll be sharing information over the next few weeks about how to help keep you safe and well this winter.

➡️ How to Avoid Slips and Falls
Falls can cause injuries and distress and tend to increase during winter when conditions are icy and wet. You can help reduce your risk of slipping or falling by:
• Be vigilant for icy paths or wet surfaces
• Check that mobility aids are in good condition and used correctly
• Make sure footwear fits well and is non-slip and appropriate for the weather
• Report any changes in mobility or balance to one of our carers or managers. We can then assess your needs and refer you to the appropriate services
• Try to stay indoors during particularly cold weather, and go outside in the middle of the day when the temperature is at its highest

You can find out more on the Age UK website, https://www.ageuk.org.uk and don’t forget, if you or someone you know needs a little extra help in their home during this time of the year, or if they need support recovering from illness or an accident, please do get in touch with us on 01423 871 003.
