We get it.
GLP-1 medications like Mounjaro can be genuinely life-changing. But they’re still medications - and they come with considerations worth taking seriously.
Whether you’re just starting out and want a clear, supported pathway to eventually coming off, or you’ve been taking it for a while and feel ready to stop, the question is the same: what does my body actually need to make this work long-term?
We can help.
We begin with your baseline. Blood testing tells us what’s happening beneath the surface, and imaging gives us a picture of what’s happening inside. Our upper abdominal scan checks the health of your liver, pancreas, and gallbladder - three organs that can be directly affected by GLP-1 medications and are worth monitoring whether you’re starting, continuing, or stopping. If bone density is a concern - particularly relevant if you’re perimenopausal or menopausal - we can also arrange a DEXA scan, giving you a precise baseline to work from.
From there, we build around you. A nutrition plan that supports your body through the transition - because stopping GLP-1s without the right nutritional foundation significantly increases the risk of regain. A movement plan that’s realistic for your life and protects the muscle mass that keeps your metabolism working in your favour.
And if you’re perimenopausal or menopausal, we’ll look at your hormones too, because HRT can make an enormous difference to how your body holds weight, recovers, and feels day to day.
Everything connects. It’s not one intervention - it’s a complete picture, built around you, so that whatever you decide about medication, your health keeps moving in the right direction.
It begins with an informal chat with one of our GPs. From there, we build a plan together - so stepping away feels comfortable, manageable and actually really exciting. You’ve got this!
