Corridor care is no longer confined to Emergency Departments.
This joint statement sets out serious concerns about the growing use of Post Anaesthetic Care Units as holding areas for patients when beds are unavailable.
Produced in response to increasing reports of corridor care extending beyond Emergency Departments, it highlights the impact on patient safety, dignity, staff wellbeing and surgical services.
AfPP has coauthored and endorsed this statement alongside national professional bodies to call for urgent action to restore safe, dignified post operative care.
