April represents an important month when it comes to the operating theatre, with stress being on the rise for many of us, we believe it's a great time to recognise, motivate and understand our own stresses to live happier and healthier lives.

We were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Professor Harold Ellis.

A distinguished surgeon, passionate educator, and lifelong advocate for learning, Professor Ellis made an extraordinary contribution to the profession. Even after retiring from clinical practice in 1989, his commitment to education never wavered, continuing to teach, write, and inspire well into his nineties.

His impact on the Journal of Perioperative Practice was truly exceptional, becoming its most published author and a trusted voice for generations of perioperative practitioners.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and all those whose careers he influenced.

It’s not a webinar, lecture, or survey; it is a safe, private space to discuss the realities of working in operating theatres today: training, workforce wellbeing, teamwork, professional fulfilment, and the pressures shaping everyday practice.
