It has been a week full of smiles, stories, and song here at The Gatehouse! 🏡✨

We’ve spent some truly special time together "strolling down memory lane," sharing stories about our lives and getting to know each other even better. There’s so much wisdom and history in our lounge! 📖❤️

Our competitive spirits came out for our weekly quizzes and games, and we especially loved celebrating National Bird Day with a themed bird quiz and some relaxing coloring sessions. 🦜🖍️

The highlights didn't stop there: 🎤 We tapped our toes and sang along to a fantastic performance by Rick Fry! 💅 Our residents enjoyed some well-deserved relaxation during our pamper afternoon. 🎶 And of course, no week is complete without a good old-fashioned sing-along in the lounge!

It’s been a joy to see everyone engaging, relaxing, and enjoying each other's company. Unfortunately we have not been very good at capturing these moments with photos this week📸

A Week of Celebrations at The Gatehouse! 🥂✨

What a way to start the year! We’ve had a busy and heart-warming week here at The Gatehouse. From high-energy fun to cozy afternoons, our residents have been making the most of every moment.

Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to:

🐎 Off to the Races: We enjoyed a thrilling simulated afternoon at the races—there was plenty of cheering and friendly competition!

🍿 Movie Magic: We dimmed the lights for film afternoons, complete with all our favorite snacks.

🥳 Happy Birthday: A very special "Happy Birthday" to one of our wonderful residents! It was a joy to celebrate your big day with you.

🎈 Ringing in 2026: We hosted a fantastic New Year’s Eve party in the afternoon to welcome the start of a brand-new year.

🎲 Lounge Games: Keeping our spirits high and minds sharp with plenty of games and laughter in the lounge.

A Magical Christmas Day at The Gatehouse! 🎄✨

Yesterday was a day filled with so much love and laughter. Our residents had a wonderful time celebrating together—from the excitement of unwrapping gifts to the tradition of watching the King’s Speech.

We enjoyed a delicious Christmas dinner with all the trimmings (and plenty of crackers to pull!), followed by an afternoon of games and fun in the lounge. It was extra special to welcome so many friends and family members into our home to share the holiday spirit.

Yesterday was our Christmas party and what a truly special day it was 🎄✨
We were treated to a wonderful Christmas performance from Rick Fry, played party games (including a very competitive pass the parcel 🎁) and welcomed lots of friends and family throughout the day.
Everyone enjoyed a delicious buffet and the celebrations carried on well into the late afternoon.
We shared lovely memories of our favourite childhood gifts from Santa, chose our favourite Christmas songs, and sang along together with plenty of smiles and laughter 🎶❤️
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas 🎅🎄

We’ve had a brilliant week here at Gatehouse 🎄✨
We celebrated two very special birthdays, welcomed a surprise visit from an elf, a reindeer and even a turkey (yes, really 🦃), enjoyed plenty of mulled wine and mince pies while getting ready for Christmas Day, and made sure our fish were well fed too 🐟💙

Feeling the Christmas Spirit at the Gatehouse! 🎄✨
We’ve had such a joyful week preparing for the big day. Our residents have been busy getting creative, making beautiful handmade Christmas cards and festive decorations to brighten up our home. 🎨✂️
The highlight for many was our lovely church service. There’s nothing quite like singing carols together to bring back fond memories and celebrate the season. 🎶📖
To top it all off, we had a very special visit from Richardson the singer—and of course, the real star of the show, Honey the dog! 🎤🐶 There were smiles all around as we sang along to some favorite tunes.
It’s been a week full of music, laughter, and community. ️❤️

We are soaking up the festive cheer with a fantastic line-up of activities designed to keep everyone active, creative, and pampered!

✨ What’s been Happening?

🧘 Yoga by Amy: Time to stretch and find our inner zen!

✂️ Christmas Card Making: Getting crafty and making beautiful cards to send to loved ones.

🎮 Omi Projector Games: Fun, interactive games for movement and laughter.

💅 Pamper Afternoon: Relaxation and a little luxury—because we deserve it!

We love seeing the smiles and hearing the laughter during these sessions. Keep an eye on our page for photos later this week!

We've been busy celebrating life and having fun:

A very happy birthday to one of our lovely residents

Lots of laughter with our competitive balloon games in the lounge.

Getting our brains working with a lively quiz.

Moving and grooving with our fantastic exercises led by David.

And topping it all off with a wonderful, uplifting performance from the talented singer, Emma.

It's moments like these that make The Gatehouse feel like home. ❤️
