Such a pleasure & privilege to be at Beckwithshaw Community Primary School delivering our ‘Bounce’ wellbeing workshops.

The children were incredible in their knowledge & wisdom about our human super powers. 🦸 Jett 🐾 wished he had the skills of Discovering, Noticing, Advising & Valuing too!

Impeccable behaviour, & such kindness in this school. Thankyou so much for inviting us back - always such a joy. 🤩

Last week, Systemisk Psychology delivered a half day well being event designed specifically for Yoga teachers and studio managers.

At the heart of the event was a recognition that Yoga studios are a place of safety and tranquility where people from all walks of life come to decompress and create space.

The training provided attendees with evidence based skills to support clients most effectively without compromising their own mental health.

We covered topics such as responding with compassion, maintaining effective boundaries and responding to overwhelm.

Yoga Hero it was a pleasure, and thankyou for the great feedback on the event. We are glad you enjoyed it & found it beneficial for your practice & own wellbeing.

Wishing all our clients, followers, family & friends a peaceful & restful festive period.

Systemisk Psychology offices are closed from 20th December, reopening Monday 6th January. This is to support our team in their own wellness; rest, recovery & connection.

What a pleasure & privilege to be in Ripley & Beckwithshaw schools today, delivering our transition to school ‘bounce’ workshop.

With slight adjustments to delivery to suit age and stage, we discussed the importance of all feelings and that all feelings have a message to share with us if we just take the time to listen. 👂 We focused particularly on the return / transition to school after what sounded like fabulous summers for so many of the children. ☀️

Some delightful discussion amongst body-mind integration practices (the lion breath was a particular favourite 🦁) made for a thoroughly enjoyable day for Systemisk Psychology.

Sadly Jett couldn’t join the sessions today (we are in the process of working through animal exhibition licensing processes); his substitute enjoyed some good cuddles today though instead! (Not quite the same we know!) 🐾

Back to school & back to a pocket full of treats! 🐾

Systemisk Psychology had a welcome return to Kettlesing Felliscliffe primary school in the continued provision of 'bounce' well-being workshops to the school.

Today's workshop focused on the functions of our feelings. This was linked to the children's experiences of returning to school.

We discussed how whilst some feelings may feel tricky in the body & therefore categorised as 'bad' feelings, there is no such thing as a 'good' or 'bad' feeling - all feelings are important and have a message to share if we take the time to face, rather than fear that feeling.

In all sessions we integrate mind-body practices to support the integration of mind & body to support learning (& inject a little playfulness). The children particularly enjoyed emoji miming & intense muscle tension & relaxation.

A privilege & a pleasure as ever children & staff of Kettlesing Felliscliffe Primary School. Thankyou for having us return for another workshop; "helping the future generation to 'bounce' because life has its ups & downs."

My office for the afternoon! ❤️

Ecotherapy is a great way of engaging children and young people in psychological intervention / therapy.

Well-being psychoeducation & healing wrapped in a bundle of marshmallow toasting, hot chocolate making, tree climbing, den building, nature nurturing activities. All of these things are integrated within a framework of wellbeing & wellness, but the approach supports accessibility for all (by focusing on the doing of the activity, it distracts from the feeling bit of the therapy).

Being in this setting is just healing in itself 🥰

Changing Lives through Horses

Today I lived, breathed & soaked in my happy place. 🐎

Did you know Kilnsey Trekking & Riding Centre are an approved Changing Lives through Horses Centre. Having learned to ride here as a child, been a helper as a teen, & returned for happy hacks as an adult (as well as my kids now learning to ride here) I can vouch for how friendly & nurturing everyone (humans & horses!) are.

Changing Lives through Horses is delivered on a national scale through selected BHS Approved Centres. Each centre is committed to helping and supporting young people to develop life skills and engage with society positively.

The environment in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, the people so welcoming, & the horses so gentle; it’s a wellbeing mix made in heaven. 🥰
