Children from Peel Park Primary School and residents at Anchor - Ashcroft care home exchanged stories of growing up in different eras during a recent visit.

The visit from Peel Park Primary School was made possible by The Linking Network and its Intergenerational Linking programme. The programme brings together young people in schools with older people living in care homes, independent living or from community groups.

The team at Anchor - Berkeley Court care home Leeds have been celebrating after being classed as ‘good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the second highest rating possible.

The CQC’s robust inspection process gives care homes a rating of outstanding, good, requires improvement, or inadequate based on five categories. Berkeley Court care home was rated good in the three categories inspected.

The CQC inspectors were impressed by colleagues at Berkeley Court respecting people’s preferences and choices and encouraging independence. Inspectors noted that Anchor colleagues were kind and respectful and ensured that people had access to the care and support they required.

Yesterday afternoon, we had some very special visitors here at The Manor House Harrogate! 🐐💕 Corn Close Care Farm brought along three adorable goats, and our residents absolutely loved spending time with them. Smiles, laughter, and lots of cuddles all around! Thank you for a wonderful visit!

Well done to the team at Overstone House who recently completed a challenging 26-mile walk in support of Alzheimer's Society, raising £4435 for the vital cause.

The walk marks just one of several community initiatives at Overstone House. The team's fundraising efforts continue with another event in August - a local community dog show and funday where all monies raised will go to Veterans with Dogs, a charity that supplies therapy dogs to veterans.

After all the fun and chaos of our sports day at The Manor House Harrogate, we ended the day with a very special celebration 🎉💛
Yesterday was Tim’s 60th birthday – and he also got married! 💍🎂
So of course, we had to mark the occasion properly with cake, a big singalong, and lots of smiles.
A perfect way to end a joyful day – congratulations Tim! 🥳💒

After a day full of races, laughter, and a few tumbles, we’re so excited to celebrate the winners of each event at The Manor House Harrogate!
From egg and spoon balance masters to tug of war titans, every win was well-earned – and every moment brought so much joy to our residents. 💛

Care Staff vs Everyone Else – the ultimate tug of war battle! 💪🏼😂The energy was high, the competition fierce… and poor Alex even ended up in a bush! 🌿🤣It was the perfect way to wrap up our staff sports day at The Manor House Harrogate – full of laughs, teamwork, and unforgettable moments. The residents were loving every second! 💛👏Still proud. Still aching. Totally worth it!

Today we brought the fun to our residents with a fantastic sports day! From egg and spoon races to sack races, three-legged chaos, wheelbarrow giggles, sprints, bean bag throw, and an epic tug of war – we did it all! 💪🏼💛
A massive thank you to every single staff member who got stuck in and made it such a fun and memorable day. We truly couldn’t have done it without you.

Yesterday we had the most wonderful day out at Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster with some of our lovely residents! 🐾🦁🦒
We saw lions, tigers, giraffes, monkeys, and so many more incredible animals – the smiles and excitement were absolutely priceless. 🥰

A massive thank you to our amazing staff who came along – your hard work, dedication, and kindness made the day so special. It truly wouldn’t have been possible without you. 💛

We’d also like to give a heartfelt thank you to our volunteer driver Kevin from Happy Wanderers, who got us there safely and with a smile. 🚐👏

Days like these remind us how important it is to create meaningful moments and how much of a difference we can make in the lives of those we care for. 💫
