Testimonial Tuesday!

We know how important it is for parent carers to feel heard, supported, and guided throughout the autism assessment process.

Here’s what parent carers accessing our Early Years Autism Assessment pathway had to say about their experience with our team.

Listening to feedback helps us continue to shape services that are responsive, inclusive, and centred around children and their families.

Many people tell us that nervous system regulation has been the missing piece in their recovery from eating difficulties.

When so much of our experience is held in the body, it makes sense that lasting change needs both mind and body support.

At Oakdale, we combine psychology, dietetics and body-based therapies such as Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), EMDR and Yoga Therapy to offer a holistic recovery approach.

This week marks National Grief Awareness Week (2nd-8th December), an initiative set up and run by The Good Grief Trust to raise awareness of the impact of grief and loss on a national platform.

The theme this year is ‘Growing with Grief’, which recognises that whilst grief is triggered by a loss or ending, with time it can also become the ground from which something new begins.

At Oakdale, we know that grief can take many forms and journeys. Through the support we provide to a range of clients and their families, we know that grief can be experienced in many ways. We truly understand that grief has no timeline, and there’s no “right way” to feel.

At Oakdale, we’re proud to be registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Why does that matter? Because CQC regulation helps ensure the services we provide are safe, transparent, and continuously improving. It reassures our clients, their families, and our partners that our care meets nationally recognised standards and is regularly reviewed and monitored.

Not all providers offering neurodevelopmental assessments are registered, and while there may be different approaches within the sector, we believe that independent oversight helps build trust and protects the people we support.

We remain committed to delivering care that is accountable, supportive, and focused on the best outcomes for every individual.

Today marks National Stress Awareness Day — an important reminder to pause, reflect, and check in with ourselves. 💙

At Oakdale, we understand that caring for others begins with caring for ourselves.

Life can be demanding, and it’s vital that people feel supported, valued, and able to take time to look after their mental wellbeing.

⚠️ Recognising the signs of stress early can make a real difference:

• Difficulty sleeping or concentrating
• Feeling irritable or anxious
• Physical tension or headaches
• Withdrawing from others

That’s why we encourage everyone to pause, breathe, and reset throughout the day.
Sometimes the smallest pause can make the biggest difference 💙

💙 OCD isn’t about being tidy.

It’s intrusive thoughts and compulsions people feel driven to do.

OCD is more than a habit, it’s a mental health condition.

Let’s talk about it.

💙 OCD Awareness Week 💙

Imagine having the same thought over and over again, unable to switch it off. For many people living with OCD, this is reality.

The good news is, with the right support, the cycle can be broken.
Awareness, understanding, and compassion make a real difference.

If you or someone you know is struggling, support is available.
