Our Family Matters meeting went very well yesterday, a huge thank you to the relatives that attended. We were blessed and very grateful to receive some wonderful feedback:

‘Olivia is the happiest and most settled she has been in the whole of her life’, ‘she has blossomed’, ‘what we have done to help her medically re appointments is remarkable’. ‘The home just feels friendly and family’. ‘She settled so quickly’.

‘The knowledge expressed of each one is remarkable’, ‘you know them and have tailored things so they can be included’. ‘Hummingbirds are such a great idea’ .

We have had our environmental health inspection this morning and we have retained our 5 star food hygiene rating.
The inspector complimented our team on providing freshly cooked food each and everyday.
A big well done and thank you to all of our kitchen team!

⭐Olympic Champions⭐
We have had an exciting time taking part in the North Yorkshire Care Provider Olympics over the last few weeks. Overall, 58% of our residents competed in seven different 'Olympic-style' events. We all had great fun and achieved things we didn't imagine possible! All were impressively willing to ‘have a go’. We shared many laughs as people grappled with novel activities. We also revealed the competitive streak in a few as they determinedly battled to improve their score and beat their friends! Every event was scored and gave us our Gold (Ann), Silver (Christina) and Bronze (Joan H) winners who were awarded medals and trophies. Congratulations to our champions and well done to all who took part so enthusiastically 🎉.

Our Emmaus House photo book is ready and on sale now. Full of photos depicting 'these hands' describing our family members experiences and some witness testimonies. All funds will go back into our care home. £10.

North Yorkshire Sport Visit
As part of a varied range of sports activities we have been completing for the 'North Yorkshire Care Home Olympics', Simon and Rachael from North Yorkshire Sport introduced us to two new sport games: 'Boccia' and 'New Age Curling'. These are inclusive access games ideal for our Family Members. Boccia is like Boules and New Age Curling uses irons with ball bearings to skim along the floor as if it was ice. We thank Simon and Rachael for providing such an enjoyable afternoon.

Emmaus Bake Sale... mmmm!
Thank you to everyone who shared in today's Bake Sale. The food was delicious, the company was great, and the donations were generous. A special thanks to all the families that joined us and to our amazing cooks.
