The Hearing Suite is an independent hearing clinic providing tailored solutions. We are based in the

If your results show a hearing loss, your audiologist may suggest hearing aids tailored to your needs.

We’ll fit them comfortably, program them just for you, and show you how to use and care for them. Then you trial them at home for a week to see how they work in your day-to-day life.

After your trial, we’ll fine-tune them based on your feedback. Some people choose to purchase them after a week; others prefer a bit more time.

Once you’re happy, you’ll get regular check-ins every 3 months, yearly hearing reviews, and support whenever you need it.

Here’s what happens during a hearing consultation with us:

✨️We’ll begin by discussing your hearing concerns and where you’re struggling most – at work, in social settings, or even at home.

✨️Then, using an ENT microscope with 20x magnification, we’ll take a close look inside your ears. If there’s wax or debris, we’ll gently remove it.

✨️Finally, you’ll take a hearing test in a soundproof booth, listening to tones and speech.

✨️When the test is complete, we’ll walk you through your results and explain everything clearly, and decide on the next steps to achieve your hearing goals.

• Keep your hearing aids in a protective case when you’re not wearing them.
• Avoid adjusting them with sandy fingers.
• Clean your devices carefully after a beach day, especially the microphone ports.

4. Plan for Social Events
Beach bonfires, outdoor concerts, or BBQs can be lively (and loud).
• Sit close to friends or face them for better lip reading.
• If you're struggling, let someone know; people are happy to help.
• Recharge or pack spare batteries before you head out.

Your hearing aids might love summer sounds, but not splashes or swims. Even if they're water-resistant, it’s safest to:
• Remove them before swimming.
• Use a waterproof case while you're near the water.
• Dry your hands before adjusting them at the beach.

2. Beat the Heat
Extreme heat can affect your devices. To stay cool and safe:
• Don’t leave hearing aids in a hot car or direct sun.
• Use a wide-brimmed hat to shield your ears and devices.
• Store them in a shaded, ventilated spot when not in use.

While a visual check can give clues, tympanometry is the most reliable way to know if a perforation has healed. It’s a quick test using gentle pressure (a bit like when a plane lands) that measures your ear canal to confirm what’s going on.

You’re not alone; many people aren’t sure if they have a perforated eardrum, especially if it happened in childhood or was mentioned in passing by a doctor.

Here’s what you need to know about a perforated eardrum:
✨ A healed perforation is ideal.
✨ Dry perforations can still be healthy.
✨ Wet perforations, especially at the top part of your eardrum (called the attic), need to be watched closely.
