Be honest—did you follow through on what you said back in January?

If the answer is no, it’s usually down to one of these 3 things:

• You went too hard, too fast
• You set unrealistic expectations
• You had zero accountability

It’s easy to blame your age. Or your metabolism.

But that’s not what’s holding you back.

Most people think building muscle takes hours in the gym.

It doesn’t.

It takes intent.

Here’s how to build muscle in under 1 hour per week:

Train 3x per week for 20 minutes
(or 1 movement a day for 10 minutes)

That’s it.

But there’s a catch…

You have to train properly.

Most people go through the motions.
A few sets. Stop when it burns. Call it a day.

That won’t cut it.

You need to push your sets hard.
Close to failure.
With focus.

And every session…
You progress.

More reps.
More control.
Better form.

No wasted effort.

Pick simple movements:
Pull-ups
Push-ups
Squats
Dips
Rows

Master the basics.

Then earn your results.

But training is only half the game.

If your recovery is poor…
Your progress will be too.

Sleep like it matters (because it does)
Eat like you train (fuel + protein)
Manage stress

This is where most men fall short.

They chase more workouts…
Instead of better habits.

You don’t need more time.

You’re just overloaded.

Busy job.

People relying on you from every direction.

So by the time you finally get a minute…

Training feels like a chore.

Eating well feels like effort.

And another “perfect plan” just feels unrealistic.

Here’s the truth no one says:

You don’t need more discipline.

What You need is a system that fits your life.

Because right now, you’re trying to train like a single 25-year-old…

With the schedule of a 40+ man carrying real responsibility.

That’s why it keeps falling apart.

Not because you can’t do it—
But because it was never built for you in the first place.

What actually works?

Short, focused sessions.

Simple structure.

Food you don’t have to overthink.

Something you can stick to on your worst week… not just your best.

Because consistency isn’t built on motivation.

Reverse diet before cutting

Think of it like this:
• Reverse diet = setting the stage
• Cut = performing

If you skip the setup You start your cut on low calories, you plateaus and your already training 5-6 days a week and your calories are at 1400 what are you going to do next?

More workouts?

Less calories?

There’s no way anyone can do this without getting injured or damaging your health!

You basically have nowhere to go and Fat loss stalls quickly!

If you reverse first:
• You can diet on higher calories
• You keep strength + muscle
• Fat loss becomes easier and cleaner

Most people as they get older will never lose bodyfat unless they fix their metabolism first!

Increase your calories by 200 cals a day as a starting point and work from there ideally you want to be 2000-2600 as a female 2500-3000 for a male before ever cutting calories!

If your fitness plan goes from perfect to nothing read this:

For most my career as a trainer my approach to training looked impressive on paper.

Hour workouts, strict diet, NO days off.

And it did work to a degree, well right up until life got busy or I had a poor night sleep.

The problem wasn’t the effort

It was this:

Anything less than an hour workout felt pointless

If I couldn’t do the full sessions I wouldn’t bother.

If I couldn’t eat perfectly I would write the day off.

So that’s what happened. NOTHING.

So I started to look for the fix.

A better plan
More equipment
More motivation.

Same result.

Why? Because the problem wasn’t never effort.

It’s a system or plan that only works on perfect days.

What I realised is the plan needed to exit in area that could be done on my worse days.

Busy week- Shorted workouts
Low energy- Scale back the workouts
Stressed or poor sleep- Again n scale back effort.

That’s how you build ruthles consistency.

Build a plan for your busiest weeks and you will never. Miss a session again.

Wojtek works night shifts and has a family so I had to build him a realistic plan to work around all this.
