This week is Sexual Health Week!

At IntegraCare, we’re shining a light on an important topic 's*x and relationships among adults with learning disabilities.'

We believe that everyone, regardless of ability, has the right to explore their s*xuality, form meaningful relationships, and access clear, inclusive information. Having a disability does not diminish s*xual feelings, desires, or curiosity. It does not prevent s*xual maturity.

That’s why we’re committed to supporting the people we work with by:

✅ Promoting understanding through education and open conversations
✅ Empowering individuals to make informed choices

What a Summer 🔅

These guys really have been busy; attending Go For It activities, meeting friends, going on holidays and making the most of the good weather and our local attractions. I am sure the colder months will not stop them doing any of the above though!!

The Supported Living Manager has been working hard to create a space where both staff and clients feel valued and at home. Our core values are proudly showcased on the office wall, surrounded by vibrant photos celebrating the incredible individuals we support and our dedicated, compassionate team. It’s now more than just a workspace, it’s a celebration of community, care, and connection.

The Supported Living office is now home to IntegraCare’s “Easy Read Resource Hub”, a new library of support tools, geared towards the promotion of independence and skill development.

The hub offers a variety of “easy read” information packs - from health guides to step-by-step recipes - for use in supporting IntegraCare clients with communication needs across all aspects of their life.

We’re super proud of this space and hope it is used to its full potential.

Here's a little update of what we were up to last week.

A lovely day watching The Railway Children AND then a spectacular Sportsfest for our GO FOR IT group at the weekend. Sportsfest had members egg and spooning, three legged racing, sack racing and even tug-of-war, ending with well deserved medals, certificates, prizes and smiles all round!

Our user led friendship group aims to enable individuals with additional support needs to have better access to social support and activities.

We’re over halfway through the year already, so we thought we better give an update on the wonderful activities that our GO FOR IT members have taken part in so far.

With the support of the facilitator, each month the members meet and plan the activities they want to do and agree a schedule. It is amazing to see what has been organised and facilitated successfully for our members this year, so far.

🚨 Food Safety Drive at IntegraCare! 🍽️

We're excited to launch our latest initiative focused on food safety—because good choices start with informed decisions.

This initiative is all about:
✅ Helping clients manage food expenses
✅ Reducing waste
✅ Supporting staff with clear expectations
✅ Encouraging clients to take charge of their food choices

We have distributed several posters to our services and we’re inviting staff, clients and now our Facebook followers to share what they’ve learned, changes they’ve made, new foods they’ve tried, and what they've discovered about food freshness—especially around those mysterious ‘best before’ dates. 👀

Let’s make mealtimes safer, smarter, and more satisfying together!

Our Food Safety drive will lead us nicely on to our next, which will focus on ‘Healthy Me’.

Once a shy and quiet individual to a confident, singing and dancing superstar.

The journey from shy and quiet, to confident and expressive, whilst also becoming a source of encouragement for others, has been truly inspiring.

The support team here at IntegraCare and Henshaws Arts and Crafts has not only helped her find her voice but also given her the courage to use it — and that’s a success worth celebrating 👏
